does anyone know if nintendo is going to rerelease it for the wii or should i just go find a copy my theory is they probably release it in the summer before E3 prior to annoucning or releasing some footage for the new zelda wii game
i could see it happening that way, yes, possibly. i don't think it terribly likely, though. in fact, i would be surprised. i'd advise to just get a copy for the GC. it's well worth not having to wait, anyway.

No, I don't think it's likely that they'll remake Wind Waker for the Wii. Besides, the Wii controls wouldn't be as good as the GameCube's. The free-range camera (controlled by the C-Stick), for example, is a huge boon to Wind Waker.
Considering Nintendo has kinda thrown the Toon Link franchise to the DS, i think we'd be more likely to see any re-release of Windwaker on the DS, really (which is more like 'not really', lol). :3

Wasn't there that interview just a few days ago with Eiji Aonuma where he was quite literally answered this same question. He was asked if there were any plans to remake any old Zelda titles with new hardware and he said flat out no.... I'll quote him.
"Well, I sometimes hear such requests from people who want to play Ocarina of time on Wii, they ask us to remake it and take advantage of Wii technology. Whenever we have to think about a remake we have to also think about the background, especially what kind of situation, what kind of period and what kind of time the game was played in, because, be it Ocarina of time or any other games, whenever they say they want to have a remake on whichever platform, they have some emotional attachment from playing that game at that particular time or environment. That sort of background is always there when they talk about or request a remake of a game. We cannot afford to destroy that sort of emotional attachment. Still, even if we are going to take advantage of improved technology, we have to have some breakthrough in gameplay. That combination is not an easy one, whenever we talk about this breakthrough technology we come up with ideas we would like to incorporate into the new Zelda franchise. So that's the current situation and thats the reason why we are not very agressive in the possibility of remaking the past Zelda series. If I can think of how to do it, or any inspiration comes to me, without destroying the emotional attachment people have to the past game, and I can make some great innovation or renovation on the remake then I might be able to think about it further."
so there you have it!

You should just buy the GCN version, a Wii version will more than likely never happen.

It's not something like metriod where NPC would really vastly improve it.
I disagree. The motion controls in Twilight Princess worked great, and I would imagine that the same thing would apply here if it was a good port.
Nah, it still wouldn't work. As NotEnoughGolds said, the free range camera controlled by the c-stick wouldn't work right with the wiimote, espicially when your sailing.
You should just get the GC game. Wind Waker Wii isn't happening.
Much better to see WW on Wii than all the crap we are having today. And that's personal opinnion, much better to have WW adapted to Wii than another mario cosmic thing.
