Topic: When will they discontinue the wii games and hardware?

I'm aware of all the details of wi-fi shutdown, which only affects online games.. but my concern is if soon nintendo completely stops entire production of wii hardware, accessories, and games like they did with the gamecube very few years after the wii was invented. Of course it's going to happen soon enough.. the wii had a good run (how many years was the wii out? ALOT to say the least.. DS even longer) nothing can stop it or prevent it and I'm not complaining myself as I know how these things go (NGC was my #1 console) and it's a waste of my time making a petition against it.

IMO I think they will keep up production for a few more years as the wii u is putting them in a stalemate, economic wise I heard, and the original wii is a cheap system to buy for either reliving old NGC games or just to quickly buy something to play some wii games without spending 350 dollars.. just until the wii u picks up a little then it's bye bye I think. The DS system will probably go same time despite the absolute success in the 3ds change compared to the wii u change.

When production stops.. I think there are enough wiis in the world for them to never be hard to come across at pawn shops, ebay, or even used at gamestop for sometime until that ends at a decent cost still. I doubt it will ever be a forgotten system and value will never go up.. rather it may go down!

Wii games will be discontinued when the benefit of those games taking up space no longer holds value in the retailer's eyes.

And change the title of your thread. It's obvious Wii games will discontinued as you state yourself. However, many people here only read the thread title without reading the original post and will likely call you an idiot. Simply adding "When" to the beginning of the title will be more encompassing to this topic.

Um yeah they will discontinue Wii games. I don't know why you would think Wii game would be around forever. They discontinued NES, SNES. N64, and Gamecube games, so I dont see why they wouldn't discontinue Wii games.

Actually I didn't read it till just now when you said something, lol. I read the title of this thread just shook my head. and commented on that fact that yeah they would be discontinued.

Yeah I will admit I didn't read the OP's post because I was on my phone and the text is small on it and it bugs my eyes to read a big post like the OP had. I figured the OP was asking in general if Wii games would be discontinued and I was like umm duh that is obvious.

Anyway not sure if you are asking when places will stop selling Wii games or when Nintendo will stop making Wii games cause, Nintendo has already stopped making Wii games. The last game that Nintendo themselves made was the Kirby Anniversary Collection. However I know other companies are making Wii games.

As far as when stores will stop selling Wii games I think it will be at least a year or two till they stop. As less and less companies stop making Wii games they supplies will become less and less. Now stores like Gamestop that sell used games will probably keep Wii games around till Nintendo announces the Wii U's successor. Which is standard with Gamestop. They only sell the current gen and one gen back.

Wii and DSi are both discontinued in Japan and Europe (though the Wii Mini is still being produced for the latter), they're both are only still in production in North America.
