But it seems simple enough, no? If Wii U retail games are available for download, why not make extra money on the Wii games too? I'm thinking I would definitely buy for instance a game like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
Probably not because you can still play Wii discs on the Wii U. Just like they never had Gamecube downloads on the Wii. Besides its still easy enough to get Wii games. Heck my Wal-mart still sells them right next to the Wii U games.

Maybe later in the Wii U's life when Wii games are no longer available on disk, Nintendo will allow Wii games to be published on the eShop. I believe that the 3DS will also eventually get retail DS games on the eShop once the cartridges are no longer sold.
One reason why Nintendo did not offer Gamecube games or retail Wii games for download on the Wii was probably because of technical limitations. The Wii has a download limitation of 40 MB and the Wii's internal storage is 512 MB (technically less due to formatting and the pre-installed channels) , the Wii can store games on an SD Card (and you can put a 32 GB SD card in it) but in order to run them it has to move them to the Wii's internal storage. Gamecube games can be as large as 1.2 GB and retail Wii games can be as large as 4 GB or 8 GB (these games use a DVD-DL). There are Wii and Gamecube games that are around 200 MB but that means you can only have one game installed on the Wii's internal storage and other games have to run off the SD card (which means you have to move stuff off the Wii's internal storage and endure long loading times as the game is being moved from the SD card to the Wii's storage, and eventually the SD Card will wear-out due to all the excessive reads). The Wii U does not have any of these issues.

There are Wii U games available to download on the eShop with retail versions available at Wal-Mart too. I don't see how that matters as long as Nintendo is gonna get money for the game. And I'm pretty sure we didn't get Gamecube games due to the download size limit and 512 MB of internal flash memory.
Maybe way later. Either way it wouldn't be worth it. They'd probably make Rhythm Heaven Fever like $15-$20 when you can easily find it as low as $7 now.
I wouldn't mind Xenoblade Chronicles. I'll never have that game with the way things are now...
All Nintendo would have to do is update the games to HD and 5.1 surround sound, and it'd be gold.
Granted, it will be long time before this happens, but it's totally possible.

I highly doubt they will. They didn't put Gamecube games on the Wii Shop did they? But it makes me wonder if it's possible they can add Gamecube games to the Wii U. That would be amazing, and I'd buy Super Mario Sunshine. ;-; Oh man, that game is awesome.

I also have a 3DS and Wii U.
I don't think they'll do hat simply because there's an entire Wii inside the Wii U, that's why there's a special channel for it and that's why the internal memory of the Wii U itself can't be used for WiiWare games. Whenever Nintenod opens up the Wii U's storage for use in the Wii channel they'll probably open the doors to hackers. They know how ugly that can get since the DS and Wii were infested with ways to play games for free.
The only way to sell Wii games on the eShop would be reprogramming the game to work on Wii U's OS, and that is too big of a leap I think.

I don’t think we will see Gamecube games on the VC until at least year 3 or so down the Wii U’s lifespan.
It’s pretty obvious that Nintendo is deliberately holding back releases of it’s own published games in order to provide new VC games throughout the Wii U’s lifespan….if you remember the Wii, Nintendo had pretty much released all of it’s own published games by circa 2009…..I don’t think they want to do that this time.
Usually Nintendo platforms see a somewhat dramatic die off in releases towards the last two years or so of their active lifespan (although 2004 was pretty good for the Gamecube)………….so with the Wii U and having GCN or GBA games, I don’t think we will be seeing it until late 2015 or so. I reckon by late-summer or fall 2014 we will be seeing our first N64 games on the VC.
