I got the Wii later so mine came with the jackets. I use them all the time because it feels like I get a better grip. I use rechargeable batteries and I don't think it's that hard to change them out but that's just me. If I had the charge station I might feel differently.

I don't use the straps however. When I played Zak & Wiki they seriously got in the way so I took them off and haven't put them on since.

I love them cuz my hands are massive and the normal wii motes feel way too small lol, also...i am a recovering controller smasher (Started from becoming hardcore in Melee, broke two controls...n so far ive broken one nunchuck, im terrible i know, but recovering) so the case has probably helped my grip...and my controllers lol

Mine came with the jackets. And I believe all wiimotes now come with jackets. I don't play the wii without them because I like the extra weight.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I always find it peculiar that people say sweaty hands would make you lose grip, while I've experienced the complete opposite. After playing a bit with slight perspiration I actually tend to get a better grip because the Wiimotes get slightly sticky then.

So, no, I don't use the jackets or the straps. They are for people who have no effing clue about what they're doing, see broken TVs.

They take away too much from the coolness of the wiimote for me to use them.

I started using the jackets when I got the one for the MP that I got from TW10. I like the added weight of the Wiimote, but once I am not even using the MP I'll take it off.

When Motion Plus comes I'll probably use the jackets with those depending upon how solidly it connects to the remote. My Wii was one that came without a jacket and after the free jacket offer, but once I get the motion plus with Sports Resort and likely with Red Steel 2, should have enough to do all of them.

Changing batteries seems like it would be a pain; how about playing classic games with the wiimote NES-style?

I have to use them. Because my little bro and my dad like to play Wii Sports alot, and neither of them uses the wrist strap, and my brother tends to drop it and throw it when he gets mad. If my brother and dad would use the wrist straps, I would take them off, cause it get kinda agrivating having to take them off every time I need to charge the batteries.

Ive been using it since it came with my wii like that but if it didn't include it I would probably never use them.

That's one thing about Motion Plus -- you do kind of need to use the jacket for it (or, you don't have to but it looks and feel much better with it), but you can't play sideways-remote games at all anymore unless you remove the M+, as you won't be able to reach the 1 and 2 buttons anymore. So, you'll probably always need to keep one or two remotes without the M+ attached, and one or two with it always attached, otherwise you'll be going through the annoying process of removing and inserting the add-on far too often.

I only use them when playing Wii Sports. None of my other games require as much motion.

I figure I'll have two remotes with M+ (one PAL; one Japanese) and two without (unless everything starts having a pack-in!).

Just for fun I put the two jackets I already have on one PAL and one Japanese remote and actually they're not as cumbersome as I remember. Using the controller NES-style works fine, though as indicated clearly the Motion+ enabled one isn't going to be used that way!

I have hit myself with the bloody things in the past during over-enthusiastic Wii Sports Baseball sessions and accidentally banged the remote on the coffee table, so it's probably a good thing I'm trying them again!

I have 3 Wiimotes, one with M+ and one without (those have jackets) and one in a GH guitar.

I always use them and the strap. Strap saved my butt on Tiger the first time I played it. Was playin disc golf and was still getting the hang of it and the mote slipped out of my hand as I threw...wasn't for the strap I probably would have broke the thing lol

As far as classics go, I use a SNES controller via the gamecube port, so the M+ thing wouldn't be an issue there.
