UK finally gets the youtube app after years of waiting.
it`s not the full youtube experience as you can`t rate, like, or comment on videos. plus there`s a few other bits from the site you can`t do. but on the plus side, it`s far quicker at finding and loading up particular videos you want to look at compared to using the youtube site through the wii browser.
for a free download i can`t complain too much. as like most people who just want to look stuff up on youtube it does the job well enough.
post up what you guys think below.

I went on the Internet channel last night, and it told me to download the channel(I didn't even know there was an app available for download)
I found it to be much better to watch the videos on (mostly) the full screen, but there's still a few bugs there, like errors and the such.
But overall it's a nice app,and is well welcomed during the Wii's last days.

But hey Youtube where's the Youtube app for 3DS?

Got it in Switzerland... Seems to work allright and much nicer BUT (and a VERY BIG BUT) I doesn't recognise my plain-vanilla USB Keyboard, so I am reduced to wagging the Wii-mote around, which is really really a pain down there when searching for anything more compley than "LADY GAGA". Oh, and they seem to completely ignore that there are people out there that use "funny" characters like Ä, Ö and all that....

The Customer Service has been really pathetic, first sending me instructions about the Wii U (although I had explicitly written it was a Wii) and then saying that there was no YouTube update for the Wii (patently untrue)....

Has anyone found a workaround for the keyboard problem?

@bern_viking i agree, the keyboard given sucks. they could have programmed in a proper working qwerty keyboard rather than the very basic a to z thing that they`ve done, or they could have atleast asked nintendo to use the one programed in with the wii.
also, it doesn`t appear that there is any work around at all. we`re stuck with it as it is.
something else i`ve noticed that just seems a complete waste is when you log in, there`s a section for suggesting improvements. but, as you click on the option there`s a toggle button with "send anonymous youtube suggestions" written next to it.
that kind of makes me wonder why they bothered at all, because there is no way at all that you could contact youtube anywhere through the app. so this is deffinitly one improvement that they could add.
not having the lika/dislike feature doesn`t bother me, but i wish they added the "add to favourites" option though.
they could also add the option to delete videos from your favourites list, and an option to create playlists aswell.
the only other option i would have liked is the ability to send friends any youtube clips from the app too.

I have discovered the YouTube App today (yeah, better late than never) and I find it very useful. The functionality is limited to "search" and "watch" but this works indeed pretty good. Better than on my computer (which often crashes with a blue screen while watching YouTube videos.) The videos run (as) smooth (as possible) and interpolation looks good on my 42" TV.
My conclusion: Basic but good.

The suggested videos based on my history option keeps the TV on more than it would ordinarily. Neither my Apple TV nor Sony TV have that option, plus I'm on a slow internet connection and the Wii doesn't try to grab anything except SD.

It's quite good the youtube app on the Wii.

Yep just another reason for me to keep my Wii plugged in... and turned on. Love the Wii!
