My Wii did't light up Blue, to show that I got mail, for an update

strange. I noticed the letter like 10 mins ago.

Says it was just fixes to improve performances, didn't really see any changes at all.

I'm always nervous about updating. I hear so many stories about bricked Wii's

I was starting to get "Wii internal memory corrupted" messages.

I reformated my memory, and lost all my save data but my Wii works without the $75 + shipping Nintendo was going to charge me to get it fixed.

Maybe this will insure everything will continue to work... and maybe it won't

I just installed the update - nothing interesting as far as I'm concerned. My Wii won't read any discs anymore...

I just updated. No problems. Took forever, though. Nintendo's servers are probably slammed.

I'll be getting it tomorrow. I'm careful not to unplug my Wii while updating, so I should have no problem.

@Bobpie: You should either have it repaired or get a new Wii (if you can afford it).

Downloading the update. It says behind the scenes fixes, but with any luck, they may be prepping the wii to accept a new channel. Wii no ma?

Seems they are just trying to get rid of homebrew again. How about an update with actual new features?

Yeah, it took forever, and I don't notice anything. I hate feeling like I'm downloading useless updates. If the updates were actually useful, they might actually motivate people using the homebrew channel to update, but as it is, they'll just avoid them anyway.

It was another anti-homebrew update. (Search for System Menu 4.3 if you want more details about what's included in the update)

I always update to the latest version as soon as it's safe to do so without losing the Homebrew Channel (I have my entire collection ripped to USB drive for convenience and to prevent little fingers scratching any more discs) - the only effect is that I can't use the Shop Channel in the time between the update coming out and the homebrew scene working around it, which is entirely Nintendo's loss.

Just got it.
First attempt: Installation failed, no damage
Second-fourth attempts: couldn't get online
Fifth attempt: Success after resetting the WiFi stick and software; I also had to reconnect my cordless mouse

Verdict: Just another boring update.
