Secrets, Hints & Help for Wii Sports Resort

"Number Button"-Code:

Q: How does it work?

A:

  • select a game of your choice
  • on the last screen before the game starts (mii select, course select, diffcult select etc...) you point your courser (hand) on the option of your choice, but don't press any button yet.
  • while your courser hoovers over the option press and HOLD the "1"- or "2"-Button (to know which button, take a look at the list below!!)
  • while holding the button you now press "A" to select whatever you want to choose.
  • keep the "Number Button pressed down
  • when the "warning"-massage (take a pause, get yo strap on, don't punch friends in their ugly faces...blah blah blah...) shows up
you can release the "Number Button" and press "A" now again to enter the game.

Following stuff will happen:

SWORDPLAY
Duel: press "2" to let the fight take place in a sunset (tested)
press "1" to let the fight in Vs.-Mode take place on the sudden death-platform (tested, but didn't work for me)
Speed Slide: - nothing for now -
Showdown: press "1" to get a purpel sword (not tested)

WAKEBOARDING

Frisbee Golf: press "2" todiable all meters (map, wind) (not tested)

ARCHERY
Archery: press 2 to let all indicators disapear (wind, shooting sight/help) (tested)

Golf: press "2" to turn off all indicators (wind, map, strenght-o-meter) (tested)

BOWLING
SPECIAL NOTE!
Choosing the ball colour:
At the mii-select screen, hoover the pointer (Hand) over the validation-button. Now press and hold one of the following directions on the D-Pad to choose a colour

right = Gold
left = Pink
down = Green

then press "A" to select and release the d-pad at the warning message screen. this can get a little tricky with the left option 'cause the courser is gonna change to the left side. best way is to press both buttons at the same time. not easy but managable.
Bowling: - nothing for now -
100-Pin Game: - nothing for now -
Spin Control: - nothing for now -

POWER CRUISING
Slalom Course: - nothing for now -

Skydiving: press "2" to turn the game into the intro sequence again (tested)
Island Flyover: press "2" to make ballons and "i"-points disappear. time limit is still there! (tested)
Dogfight: - nothing for now

as you may have seen this list is not complete and i will update the OP if you got something cool to add. just take a pick and play around with the 1 and 2-Button as said and tell me what happens. Not everything is tested...time is limited.

80 "i"-Points in Flyover:
way to much to describe. so i digged out something for you:

Close Shot of all "i"-Points on the Map: CLICKY!
Please Note: Some stuff is way up in the sky, some is in tunnels and some points are moving (but got a fixed spot on the map! like miguel the airplane guy....flying arounde the whole island but is notet on the left uper side in the water) so not everything is where it might seems to be!

For detailed informations go here: Detailed Map of every "i"-Spot!
you get a stamp if you collect all of them in all three daytimes!

Secret-throw in 100 Pin-Bowling:

Many know it from Wii Sports and now it's even BETTER! In WS you could just do it in the last round with 100 Pins...now you can do it EVERY round!. Great!

What to do: You see that little red dots faaaaar at the end of the bowling lane side? you wanna hit that!
how do you do that? everybody got his own little sneaky technique, but mainly you wanna throw the ball ONTO(!) the Siderail (left or right is a matter of taste) you get a stamp for it!

  • You have to direct the dotted line almost parralel to the Rail.
  • Do so by pressing "A" and turn A LITTLEL BIT to your wanted direction.
  • Now you move your mii aaaall the way over to the side (till you can't move any further!)
  • This is where it gets tricky! your throw needs to be a little higher as normal (but not to high!) and mostly needs a bit of spin to on of the sides (not to much!)
  • the ball needs to go all the way down in the sidrail till it hits the red dot at the end
  • you will hear a "earthquakeish" sound and BAM! all Pins drop dead like me on new year!

you see...it's perfectly easy! nah, it's hard to begin with, but once you got the hang of it it will work.

Archery Secret Targets:
you may have heard about the Secret Targets at archery. To hit them you need to aim WAAAAAY HIGHER then normal ('cause it's a long way to go for the arrow!). also take to consideration the even a low windspeed can take your arrow far away! here is a full list of all locations. The hints are just approximately. again, you need to aim with the wind in mind!
you get a stamp if you can hit them all!

BEGINNER

  • Target 1: Aim to the right. You see the waterfall? left of it you see an ORANGE on the edge
Hint: You see a littlel rock hangover over the orange. try to to aim where the hangover meets the waterfall.
  • Target 2: Aim all the way to the left. Inbetween two trees you can see a WATERMELON on the edge of the rocks.
Hint: Try to aim so that the edges of the trees just touch the sides of you "aiming ring"
  • Target 3: Tricky one! On the left side (right behind the left target-pillar) you can (well can't!) see a CANTALOUPE.
Hint: Most of the time there is no wind in this stage. just aim high enough. Try to aim so that the pillar of the BRIDGE is halfway in the left part of your target center.
  • Final Target: Aim almost all the way to the right and down so that you can barley look over the side of the bridge you're standing on. far away on the ground you see a CAKE,
Hint: There is a green upgoing "platform" above it. try to take that in your aim. most of the time you got strong wind here!!

INTERMEDIATE

  • Target 1: you can just barley see this one. aim all the way to the right and just a little bit of an ORANGE will appare over/in the fence at the tennis court.
Hint: There is a house in the back with three windows. aim the way that the upper two windows are in the middle part of your "aiming ring" and the lower, single window almost hits the lower part
  • Target 2: Aim way left and up. you can see a WATERMELON almost in the middel of the bridge.
Hint: There is a rock-hangover right above your head. aim up so that the "aiming ring" covers a littel bit of that in the upper left corner.
  • Target 3: Aim a little bit to the right. in the entranve of the castle you can barley see an CANTALOUPE
Hint: you see that big tower above the fruit? take the upper part of your aiming ring right under window there.
  • Final Target: Tricky one again. Aim right and up. Between the fence and the tree you see a BREAD.
Hint: Aim a littel bit higher then the height of the tree.

EXPERT

  • Target 1: Aim all the way to the right. you can see a ORANGE far away on the beach.
Hint: see that big mountain in the background? it hast ha littel (well a big) dent in the middle part where your "aiming ring" just fits in nicely. this is about the height you need.
  • Target 2: Aim to the right. between two stone pillars and behind a littel hill you can see a WATERMELON lurk around.
Hint: take the tip of the melon a LITTEL BIT in the lower part of your "aiming ring". got that one on first try.
  • Target 3: Aim a littel bit to the left and then a bit up. you see a CANTALOUPE on the left side of the pillars of the old ruin.
Hint: The upper part of your "aiming ring" should be a littel bit over the edge of the cliff in the background.
  • Final Target: finally found it! aim all the way to the right. on the right side of the big rock-pillar and behind that stone-passageway you can see a small red line. it's the top of a TIMER-CLOCK. this is your target!
Hint: just aim slightly above it. it's not that far away and you got upstreaming wind. quite easy if you found it

Find all Ducks in Canoing:
In the free practice mode of canoeing (press the "minus"-Button. you can collect baby ducks and bring them to their mother. collect all then baby ducks to get a stamp!

Locations:

  • Among the trio of wooden stumps, near the middle of the lake.
  • Hidden amongst some grass, near the buoys, left of the castle.
  • By another trio of stumps, closer to the castle (near ducking #2)
  • Floating between two stumps, near the middle of the lake.
  • Look for this one by a sole stump, just right of the mother (assuming you're facing the castle).
  • In the far back corner, opposite of the castle.
  • By the dock, just left of the castle.
  • Check near the stump by the castle's bridge.
  • Look by a trio of stumps near the castle's bridge.
  • Among some lily pads near the dock, on the opposite side of the lake as the castle.

5 Clock-Ballons in Power Cruising:
You can collect up to 5 ballons that will give you one minute extra on your Clock in "Free Cruise"-Mode (hit the "minus"-Button befor the game starts!) you get a stamp for finding all of them in one row!

Locations:

  • from your starting point just go straight and a bit right. you can see the so called "Queen Peach" (the big red white ship there) right behind it you will find the first Clock-Ballon.
  • from the starting point you head dead straight to Wedge Island (or get the Clock-Ballon at the Queen Peach first). just go straight ahead! when you reach the island of golf you should already see the Clock-Ballon.
  • from the start you turn left (aprox. 90 degrees) till you can see the lighthouse. go in that direction. bypass the lighthouse on the left and bypass the two smaller rocks in the water. in the horizon you can see a big rock with a hole in the middle, go there. here you will find another Clock-Ballon.
  • head towads the backside of the old ruins. there is a sea-tunnel where you maybe flew trough with your airplane. just power.cruise into it to find another Clock-Ballon. but keep on going because...
  • ....when you head out of the tunnel (see: place of the ballon above!) go straight ahead and a bit to the left. you can see three three rocks reaching out of the water. get a littel closer and you should see the fourth Clock-Ballon in front of you

sneaky snuffy known and unknown stuff:

  • the sounds when you press "A" or "B" on the titel screen are taken from Wario Ware Inc.
  • when you fly over the littel village (note the bigger city!) in Island Flyover you can hear someone playing Super Mario Bros.
  • the morse-code at the lighthouse says: "DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW MORSE CODE?
    SORRY. USE YOUR RADIO."
  • when you crash with your airplane in Island Flyover you hear a sound when you respawn. it's taken from The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask
  • in island flyover you can press: "A" to shot, "B" to kill the engine and "1" to shot a flare.
  • when you shot a flare in Island Flyover, Miguel (the artsy fartsy other plane flier) will answer you a second later with a flare
  • when you are at the title screen. just do nothing but wait. the camera will zoom in on the island and show your miis and presents you what they did last time and what they have archived in the last time.
  • on skydiving: when you got three or more smiling faces pointing at the camera, the picture will get a nice yellow tropical border. cute!
  • you can use the D-Pad on the Wiimote to control the Camera in Island Flyover and Cycling.
  • you can use the Nunchuk for Island Flyover. just attach it to the Wiimote and you can use it to shoot and control the camera with it
  • with the analouge stick of the nunchuck you can ring the bell in Cycling
  • for everyone who didn't know it by now: Wuhu Island was also presented in WiiFit and in the very first Demo of Wii Sports back in the days. also the Island Flyover was included back then. Wuhu Island will be fetured in more games in the future.
  • as in wii sports you can throw the bowling ball behind your back to scare the spectators
  • you can also throw the ball on the lanes left and right of you. the spectators will start to laught.
  • in Canoeing Speedrace the Ducks are your Ghost-Data
  • you can do a wheelie in Cycling when you flick up the Wiimote and the Nunchuk at the same time
  • you can do sneaky stuff with the overview map before the Cycling races. the analog stick zooms in and out, the control-pad changes the camera angle , the "1" button hides the highlighted route behind tall objects, whereas the "2" button hides it entirely. Finally, pressing "B" gives you a quick run-through of the course.
  • not everybody noticed this: you can zoom in when playing a frisbee game by pressing up on the d-pad
  • in most sports your mii will start to sweat if you work to hard (like long fast paddeling in cyling or many fest swings in sword battle)
  • in swordfight duel you get to a extra small secret stage if you got a draw on the third round.
  • the countdown starting sound in Cycling is taken from Mario Kart
  • the sound in Island Flyover when you recieve a "i"-spot message is taken from Battalion Wars
  • the sound in Island Flyover when you shoot a flare is taken from legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask (when you shoot a bubble as Deku Link)
  • theres a pizza bike sometimes in Cycling.
  • If you free roam in jet ski at night and you see a whale jump you can go to where it landed and see it swimming underwater.
  • If you park next to the castle, queen peach, or cabana you hear music you don't hear anywhere else in the game. (cabana is acoustic wii sports theme)
  • If you go for a swing in swordplay and then QUICKLY block at the last second, you will punch the enemy in the face with little knock back.
  • if you beat the champion in duel you get a upgrade on your armor, now you are a samurai!
  • If you completly fail at throwing the frisbee, your dog looks at you like your an idiot.

...to be continued!

Not everything is tested...time is limited. so tell me errors and mistakes! and please tell me any hardcore typing/writing-errors. i'm not native english and i want everyone to understand this list!
