It's probably because of where you are in the world. What country do you have your Wii set to? Try setting it to a nearby country with known-provided WC24/Shop service and see if it starts working.

That is actually a pretty good idea.I have my wii settings set to Estonia.That's somewhere next to finland.I'll set it and see if it works

@Melkboy: that's because your country doesn't have any news on the service to offer, apparently. you might try contacting Nintendo to let them know that they have fans in Estonia who would obviously very much like WC24/Wii Shop support too. :3

@Melkboy

To add friends, you would need to have their Wii console friend code and add it to your address book. You would also need to give them your friend code to add (it's in your address book, which is in the Wii messages area). Most multiplayer games have their own separate friend lists, so if you want to play an online game with them, you usually need to exchange game specific friend codes as well.

I know it's overly complicated, but many games have simplified the system. In effect, it means each game with online multiplayer's friend system is a bit different, so you have to check the instruction manuals for the games individually to figure it out. If they're friends on your console, you can send them messages, so it's not difficult to exchange game-specific friend codes once they're in your address book.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.
