Just saw this on IGN. It's from a Japanese newspaper online, Nihon Keizai Shimbun. Thought that maybe some of you would be interested, as it tells us new details for Wii Fit Plus like an Online mode and a more accurate weight measurement. It also mentions a new Mario Game for the Wii but that's hardly touched on. Here's the translated version

... and for some reason you named this thread after the new Wii Fit game rather than the new Mario Wii game?

Although I'm not happy about IGN putting it on their website without spoiler tags I wanted to be surprised during the E3 event. I guess it was going to be pretty hard to avoid it when you browse game sites all week long anyway, huh.
Off-topic: I'm new on the forums by the way. Hi, people! ... I'd like to make a formal complaint about your smilies. They suck. No offense.

To be honest, I don't see any big spoilers in there, except for online play. This sort of stuff is hard to avoid, I mean, If i didn't post this, someone else was bound to. I'm also one of those people who looks at loads of game websites for news.
Oh, and Welcome to the forums. For some reason, when i look at your avatar, I'm reminded of the "V for Vendetta" Masks. Odd
.Please note anyone who reads this topic that before anyone says that another Wii mario was already confirmed, no it wasn't. It was said that there would be new Mario games at the last E3 and they've revealed Mario & Luigi 3 since then. A new Wii one was just a general assumption, like with Zelda. Look what we got there, Spirit Tracks.

Wasn't an attack on you, I already read the IGN article a few hours ago - just bummed out I'll have 1 less surprise during the E3 conference. Really hope Nintendo has at least 1 big surprise left...
But, at the very least the new Mario - along with the tons of badass games from 3rd parties - will make their conference "okay". To make it great, they'll need 1 or 2 more good/great titles, IMO.

Nintendo are generally better at keeping their stuff secret than other devs/publishers. I wouldn't worry. It's mainly the 3rd parties that seem to be revealing their stuff before E3. At least Nintendo didn't deliberately reveal their stuff beforehand.

There way better than Microsoft oh boy. I think the last time I was only shocked by Microsoft was when they aquired Final Fantasy XIII.

Or Sony. Lol, PSP Go.

Yeah, they're both incompetant at hiding stuff. That leak of Qore (Or something named like that) also revealed a new MGS game for the PSP, which is probably what that countdown is for with the new Kojima game.

Anyone actually excited about the new Wii Fit game? I've just been ignoring it so far because, well, I don't care about it.
I bought the original solely for exclusive awesome games that would use the balance board. Which never came. Such a waste of €70 =/

Depends on what games they include this time. I also think It's fair to say that there will be two versions of the game released, one with the B-Board and one without seeing as so many people bought the first one. They should really sell the B-Board seperately, it can be used well. I'm also hoping there'll be a new WarioWare game on Wii that uses the B-Board, in keeping with the tradition of a new gimmick in each release, which could be quite interesting and it could easily prove that point correct.

I think Nintendo has already dropped the B-Board (and thus so have 3rd party) support and are focusing completely on M+ now... but that's just a theory. They haven't been very supportive, anyway. I think the B-Board is maybe too inaccurate.
15. Posted: Sun 31st May 2009 11:53 BST
I don't think so. Sure, M+ will be important but I'm confident they won't drop B-Board, and since when did 3rd parties drop it.

It's been out for over a year and... we've got like 2 decent titles for it - neither of which I like or are original or unique in any way. I guess you can't drop something you've never supported in the first place, but still.

I don't think they've officially trashed it, but with no software support, I've no interest in buying one for myself. Sure I hear great things about wiifit, but I'm not spending that much for a board just for 1 game.

Oh, you've heard a lot of great things about Wii Fit? It's epic fail. Well, the games are fun for 15 minutes (a la Eye Toy but without the party value) but fitness is better without it and if you don't do it now you're not going to do it with Wii Fit.
Don't buy it unless we're getting a Jungle Beat-like game for it (yeah, seriously, wtf is up with that? The bongos got better support than the B-Board).
Well, perhaps someday a cool game will put a quick B-Board feature in it... like upgrading your lightsaber skills in No More Heroes, Thunder Ryu fitness style (damn I'm awesome for thinking of that)

yeah "confirmation" just like we had a DSi virtual handheld store 'confirmation' a while ago. (hopeffully Nintendo announces it at their conference)
still I dont doubt a new mario game is on the way, but if it's a proper game, like a galaxy sequel/expansion I wouldn't expect it 09. Howeverr I hope it is, or a brand new 2D game for wiiware

2 years development for a direct sequel is plenty... they already have the engine and probably had plenty of Mario Galaxy ideas left
