Here is my list of 20 games I believe would be on a hypothetical wii classic. I know I'm thinking way far ahead (I'm not even convinced Nintendo will make a Gamecube classic) but, its always fun to speculate. (This list does have a few third party games but I'm just going to say that Nintendo magically works it out somehow).

1. Mario Galaxy
2. Mario Galaxy 2
3. LOZ: Twilight Princess
4. LOZ: Skyward Sword
5. Xenoblade Chronicles
6. Metroid Prime Trilogy (Kind of cheating, I know)
7. Wii Sports Resort
8. Smash bros brawl
9. Donkey Kong: Country Returns
10. Punch-out
11. Mario Kart Wii
12. Madworld
13. No More Heroes
14. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
15. Kirby's Epic Yarn
16. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade
17. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
18. Super Paper Mario
19. New Super Mario Bros.
20. Sin and Punishment: Star Successor

They could add some sort of WiiWare title to spice it up like StarFox 2 did on the Snes Classic. Who knows. Also, I know I missed many amazing games like Monster Hunter Tri and Rayman Origins, to name a few, but you have to stop somewhere. Feel free to share your own list or even tell me my list is complete trash. Hope everyone is having a great day.

I doubt Mad World would be on it, as it would boost the rating to an M, but I could see Sonic Colours make it on there.

@AxeltheBuizel: True, never thought about that but it makes sense. I guess that means No More Heroes is gone too. 😢

@Executer66 My idea on how they could put those games on is by offering them as DLC, and making the console be able to connect to Wi-Fi. They could even bring back Online support and WiiWare!

@AxeltheBuizel: Seeing as WiiWare is soon to be dead as well as Virtual Console, I could easily see them doing something like that. It would open the door for so many more games for consumers and Nintendo would get even more of our money. Its a win win. If only Nintendo could hear our cries.

@Executer66 And people who already own most of the games may buy it again for online play.

@AxeltheBuizel: I would love if Nintendo would do all of this but it makes you wonder how much would they charge for it. The snes and nes classics were great deals in my opinion but they didn't have many amazing features. I just wonder (if this would ever happen) how fair Nintendo would be with the price or if they would charge a separate fee each feature.

@Executer66 The price may also be higher due to the controlers being more advanced then the NES and SNES. I could see it doing well though, as people may be starting to get nostalgic for the Wii.

@AxeltheBuizel: Yeah, especially if they go for Wii Motion Plus controllers (unless they are dirt cheap to make now, I have no clue) which you need for games like Skyward Sword and Wii Sports Resort. And yes, I think it would do great, since it is Nintendo's best selling home console ever, lots of people will have fond memories of playing it which will dramatically increase the number of sales. If Nintendo can keep them in stock that is.

@Executer66 I've seen 3rd party Wii controlers for less then $10, so it might be possable.

I wish for :
1st party

2. Pokepark 1 & 2
3. Wii Sports
4. Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2

3rd party
1. Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility
2. My Sims
3. The Dog Island

@Anti-Matter: I remember playing Pokepark 1&2 and Wii play when I was younger and loving them, but I had no clue how they held up today so I didn't include them in my list. But, if they do hold up, I won't object having them as part of the hypothetical Wii Classic.

I have always played Gamecube games along with Wii games. Something that only plays Wii games would feel incomplete to me.
I think Super Mario Galaxy 1, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Endless Ocean 2, Smash Bros Brawl, Trauma center Second opinion and No more Heroes 2 are a must
Twilight Princess is a must but I prefer Gamecube version so I wouldn't be completely happy with Wii version
Some Virtual console games are a must as well, Virtual console was one of the main features of Wii imho, I would want Sonic 1, Golden Axe, Super Castlevania 4 and Street Fighter 2 at least.
Sonic Unleashed would be a game that I 'd be happy to see too, not a must like the previous ones but really good anyway.
But they would really need to make a Gamecube+ Wii mini console.
And also Photo channel would be a must for me.
All those things were what made Wii so special, a simple mini console that only plays a few "only Wii" games would be just not enough and not even representative enough of what Wii have been for me.
Some Wii games were absolutely great for sure, but Wii was even more than that, so only those great games and nothing else would still not be enough for me.

I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee

@LuckyLand: I would love a Gamecube+Wii Classic but I fear that if they did this the games would be severely limited or it would be super expensive.

Because of all the extra hardware that would be involved in a Wii classic, I don't think it will ever happen. But you hit most of the big ones for games that would be on it.

I think we would sooner see cheap-as-chips "Wii/GameCube Classics" games ported to the Switch individually for retail release than via a micro console. The necessary mini Wii Remotes and Nunchuks would also significantly drive up the cost (as well as the larger size of the games), so I don't think it could be priced cheaply enough to attract impulse purchases, especially as the Wii (and its ill-fated successor) didn't exact depart with dignity.

I would much rather prefer rereleases in this way, that is, to have these games available on cartridge for prosperity, and to save on microSD card storage. I just can't see myself going through the trouble of setting up these micro consoles when the Switch affords the ability to take these games anyway, and is more portable and easier to set up overall. I would much rather pay full price for all of the NES Classics and SNES Classics games than to possess these silly micro consoles. It would certainly be more profitable for Nintendo as well.

@AxeltheBuizel : Similar would happen if Goldeneye were to be included in a hypothetical N64 mini, which is rated MA15+ in Australia (God only knows why. The graphics were dated even by late 90s standards). Nintendo Australia would of course get it reclassified though. It would be hilarious if it dropped from MA15+ to a PG (which is comparable to the PEGI 7 rating and ESRB E10+ rating).

Several of the DS Call of Duty games were rated PG in Australia and they are considerably more violent and realistic, I feel, than Goldeneye ever was.

Likewise, the SNES mini is rated M in Australia (our M rating is comparable to 12/T overseas) due to the inclusion of Earthbound. Amusingly, there is a disclaimer on the back of the box stating that Earthbound is rated M while the remainder of the games are rated G or PG.

Reasons why this won't happen:
1. Wii games are significantly larger than NES, SNES and N64 games. You can easily fit 20 SNES games on a few hundred MB of storage. 10 Wii games would easily take up 32GB of storage.

2. The Wii needs wireless controllers. These haven't become any cheaper to produce.

3. It's not that easy to emulate the Wii. Or at least not so easy you can do it on something about as powerful as a chromecast. The cheapest way would probably be to literally include Wii hardware.

4. For how much it'd have to cost? I'm not sure there's much demand. People who want it would likely be better off just getting an old Wii or Wii U

..... with that said, Wii games on the Switch? Much easier. You have the storage, horsepower and controllers right there. Easy.

@Silly_G I always thought the Teen rating in NA was also due to Street Fighter 2, as I think one or two of the attacks showed mild blood, as well as the defeat portraits. I find it interesting that the disclaimer only mentions Earthbound and not SF2.

AxeltheBuizel

Sisilly_G

@AxeltheBuizel : That could very well be the case for the U.S., but the only M rated game (note T/12) game in Australia was Earthbound (as reflected in its consumer advice of "Crude humour and sexual references", which applies to Earthbound, with no mention of violence as it was not a factor in determining the classification of the overall package). Most Street Fighter games tend to be given a PG rating here, though there have been a few with an M rating, which I find odd as the content hasn't particularly differed much between instalments.
