It's about time!

edit: I liked this quote, from the article, the best:
"Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, said the company's first priority is always gaming, but it also wants to "continue to surprise our customers" by offering other activities."

edit again!: I just discovered that tails already posted this in the "News" section so mods feel free to delete, consolidate, masticate, or whatevercate this message.

I'm wondering how popular this woul be in the UK, since we have BBCiplayer, though the movie selection is often small, so may not really have much of an impact afterall, but still good news all round.

The article does claim that Netflix has approximately 17,000 movies available to stream on-demand. That's a big chunk of entertainement! I'm assuming that Netflix is available in the UK. How does it compete (online PC) with BBCiplayer? Or do they show different kinds of things? (movies vs. web-created-content, etc). I'm unfamiliar with what the BBCiplayer does.

pretty sure netfix is international, haven't tried it myself though, BBCiplayer offers a wide variety of shows from the last 7 days that where shown on BBC channels, cartoons, news, soaps, documenteries, comedies etc etc and a few movies now too, but not much movies at any one time, about 5 to 10 a week I think, so netfix sounds great for movie lovers.

It'll probably fail due to the fact that a majority of people who own Wiis already have Netflix or are complete morons.

You actually have to be a Netflix subscriber before you could stream them over your Wii. ::scratches head::
