I am so sick of hearing Wii bashing. I personally love the Wii and will support it till the end. it was never meant to be superior(hardware wise) but i thought many games were/are very unique. I didn't really have a question i guess just a place to vent about Wii enemies!

its because everyone these days get hard-ons for pixels.

Because they would rather watch a 50 hour cutscene and have their hand held on a linear path instead of playing the real games.

The Wii is:

• amazing
• wonderful
• awe-inspiring

• breathtaking
• astonishing

You've answered your own question. Bashing the games or controls is relatively silly, as they were both excellent (unless motion controls make you vomit inside your mouth), but the hardware was doubtlessly inferior, and there was too much shovelware. Also, now that the WiiU is out, people are reflecting on the previous generation. That should be perfectly fine.

Everyone has their own opinions and play styles for their console. Nintendo's library of games and their development plans were so distinct from previous consoles, it can be considered uncomfortable to many people who don't have too much of an open mind.
Other reasons people would bash on the Wii is:

• Lack of Power/Difficult to develop (Especially for Wiiware)
• Online gaming was nowhere on Nintendo's priorities, thus giving us a very bad online experience (The short lived Wii Speak, multiple Friend Codes) Microsoft and Sony have a great upper hand in comparison to Nintendo
• Not too many new franchises were announced
• So much shovelware and motion gimmicky games were on the Wii. Both by third, and first party.

Loving the Wii so much is why i have no reason to buy a Wii U. So far the Wii is STILL better. (And Gamecube was one of the most amazing and underappreciated generations in Nintendos history and the Wii will always be my liddle Gamecube friend too nawww ;P)

Also whoever is picking on Wii is just jelly.

The Nintendo Defence League must be ever vigilant of Wii enemies.

One word: shovelware. Also for me, while I did have some fun like Zelda and Madworld for example, I am just not a huge fan of motion controls..

At this point, its like making fun of a kid with down syndrome, you know it can't do the things what other consoles can, just leave it alone, and put its Wii mote rubber on, so it won't hurt it self.

And i am so sick of hearing people complaining about it.

Play what games you like. Other people's opinions should be irrelevant.

Perhaps, and I'm just throwing this out there, it's something that is so out there I don't expect anyone to understand, much less agree with me:

I don't see many people bashing the Wii. In fact nearly everyone I know has one. I even tried to talk a few people out of buying them in 2011 in favor of the next gen but they wouldn't listen. They're attracted to the inexpensive hardware and software. People trying to game on a budget always seem to have the Wii, Steam, and Android tablets right now.

As mentioned in another post, I was a bit of a late comer to the Wii, having purchased mine in 2011. At the time, I narrowed it down to the Xbox or the Wii. I knew the Wii had less power and fewer games (that would appeal to adults), but I went with the Wii for 2 reasons: first, it had enough games that appealed to me that I knew it would get used. Second, the motion sensing games required less space to be effective (installing into a smallish room) than it appeared the Xbox would require, so I went with the Wii. If I want to play a game that requires lots of computing horsepower, I'll play on the pc!
