Compare it to the third party support on the N64 and Gamecube and you'll see that it could have been worse.

What are you talking about? 2009 and 2010 were great years for Wiiware and if you're just referring to first party Wiiware games, you can see here that Nintendo supported the service in both 2009 and 2010 and I really don't see how Nintendo ran out of titles quickly.

Yeah, Very little quality support vs No quality support would seem like a good thing, but it's still terrible compared to every other console out right now. Or last Generation. Or the Generation before that.

I loved everything about the Wii. I enjoyed being able to play great games with intuitive controls. I loved having the option to use either a traditional controller or the Wii Remote. I also love how it is quite a reliable system (my brother was playing his Xbox 360 during a thunderstorm and it RRODed, so he had to get a new one; my Wii came back to life after mere minutes...). Not to mention backwards compatibility...

But what if they like all game genres and say the wii sucks, because it has no shooters?

I like all genres, but that didn't stop the Nintendo 64's lack of RPGs (or games from most genres) from disappointing the heck out of me. The Wii doesn't lack shooters, though. It actually has some decent-to-great ones, like Goldeneye and Red Steel 2.

I love the wii. There are a variety of different games for different kinds of gamers. I like it a lot and hope that the Wii U better!

Like:
The return of some franchises like Punch Out!!!
The backwards compatibility
The VC

Dislike:
The lack of games on the VC due to licensing reasons
The lack of some games that easily could have been on the Wii that were both the 360 and the PS3
To many garbage casual games stuff like Wiimusic and all the Wiisports wannabe games.

The Good: Zelda TP, Metroid Prime and some Lego and kirby games to play with my kids.
The Bad: How incredibly overrated and overhyped this console has been.

The Good:

• AMAZING Nintendo exclusives! Hasn't been this good since the SNES!
• Motion controls when done right are flat out 'ground breaking' and extremely fun...Ahem, on lag free Tube tv's or just in general on good HDTV sets hehe.
• The godly Virtual Console! Being able to experience retro titles or franchises from the past that you missed out on or just for Nostalgia sake is just awesome!
• The Retro rivival - Mega Man 9, Castlevania ReBirth, A Boy & his Blob and many more 2D SideScrollers!
• A Mash up of 2D and 3D titles, where as the N64(especially) and GCN focused on '3D'
• Turning the Wii remote on it's side which turns it into an NES controller.

The Bad

• The Virtual Console decline, although it's been kind of picking up a little with titles like Strider, Metal Slug 3 and Mega Man X2.
• Tons of Shovelwere, but whocares? Nobody on here bothers with that crap anyways, so why put all of that negative focus on it?
• No Official Wireless Nunchuck....Would of loved to be wire free, and with added weight due to having 2 AA batteries.
• Doesn't bake TMNT Turtle Pies ot Ice Cream Anchovi Pizza's. Bummer dude! You let me down Miyamoto!

Ya, I've got to get on my Wii left overs like Galaxy 2, DKCR, A Boy & his Blob, Skyward sword ect ect which i constantly bring up. I remember being at a point back in 08' and 09' where i was completely obsessed with this little whimsical console. It completely blew me away(Metroid prime 3, Elebits and WLSI! especially) with it's revolutionary motion control based gameplay. I rememeber even admitting that i liked it more than the NES during the time......Looking back i truly did feel this way. I haven't been this blown away by a gaming console since experiencing Super Mario World for the first time on the SNES. I'll admit, i haven't played my wii for quite some time, but that's because I've been going through some wonky times. I've got tons to play, and there are far more titles on the Wii that peak my interest in comparison to the N64 and that silly-awesome little indigo/purple Lunch Box.

I bought my Wii this past Feb. because I'm getting older and my tastes in games are getting more and more casual as the years go by, plus I wanted to revisit some of the old NES games via virtual console. Disappointment set in as soon as I removed the Wii from the box... It had no Gamecube ports!!! Oh well, that's what I get for not doing a little research before I bought it. A few days later I buy some Wii points and get a few NES games and an SNES game, the NES games are awesome and I had a blast with 'em, but then I try the SNES game that I downloaded and I can't play it because I don't have a classic controller. I find out what a classic controller is and go out to buy one. Now this thing is a piece of work... no rumble, and you have to plug it into the Wii remote. What the hell am I supposed to do with the Wii remote while I'm using the classic controller, stick it up my *%$!? I'm pretty disappointed with the Wii purchase and the room full of accessories that I've bought over the past few months. The only things I like about it are a few first party games and the virtual console ( which I've spent nearly $400 on). Will I be buying a Wii-U? Absolutely not, because I don't have the space for more controllers, nunchucks, balance boards, classic controllers, steering wheels, guns, golf clubs, etc, etc, and whatever they come up with next.

Oh wah. If you don't like the classic controller then you can buy a SNES modeled one off of ebay. I think that's a pretty silly reason to not like the wii. No one is forcing you to buy extra add-ons for the wii.

The developers are.

Monster Hunter Tri and Xenoblade - these two games alone justify owning a Wii (in my opinion).

Liked:

• The expanded focus of the console. I appreciated the fitness games, Just Dance etc etc. Offering different ways to relax with a console is a good thing.
• The download portals. Limited as they were there are a few games in there (Art Style, mostly) that I come back to.

Disliked:

• The third party support. This is why 99% of my gaming time ended up being spent on the PS3, since I don't care for most of the Nintendo first party titles.
• Motion Control. Way too many games had potential that was ruined by motion control.
