Topic: which is super mario 5?

hey guys ive been really interested in what game is super Mario bros 5. would it be new super Mario bros ds, or wii? heck even super Mario world 2 can count. but I like to think of nsmb 1 and 2 as non canon because I think the super Mario bros sub series (yes new super Mario bros is part of that) should be on consoles. and if you take new super Mario ds out of the equasion new wii isn't that generic, because canonically it would be the first time we see all of the level themes we know together in one game. I mean smb 3 didn't have all of the neither did smb 4 world. then nsmbu would be Mario 6. tell me what you gize think. (I spelled guys like that on porpuses. you know, dolphins)

I think Yoshi's Island is called Super Mario Bros 5 in Japan. I don't think Mario really has a big canon since it's not story based or anything, but I guess I would count all the 2D console platformers under the Super Mario Bros title as installments.

'Eh, looked it up, It's actually called Super Mario: Yoshi Island in Japan. Personally, I don't think there really is a "5" or beyond.

@TorchWood ok thanks I agree with you. btw yoshis island was just super Mario yoshis island. but it could be called that so I like to call yoshis island ds super Mario bros 6 super Mario world 3 yoshis island 2 ds lol

You're right, I was thinking of Super Mario World, which was subtitled Super Mario Bros 4 or something like that on the Japanese title screen, I believe. I would count Yoshi's Island as 5 canonically, but I don't think numbers really matter past Super Mario World.

how could it be 5 canonically? that would be awesome if it was cause I tried to figure out how it could be.

and also what would the land games be?
