Topic: Where does this square nut go?

I don't understand why my original topic was removed - the picture was a screenshot of the Wii square nut I was referring to in my question not an ad. It was a legitimate question, I'm not sure if whoever took that post off actually clicked on the link to see for themselves.

So here is my question again without the benefit of a picture this time.

Inside the Wii, there is a silver square nut, tiny, which presumably accommodates a screw. Where inside the Nintendo Wii does this square nut belong? It dropped out when I disassembled the Nintendo Wii and I can't find where it goes? Thanks

@shmod Because you're linking to your own website, which you want people to visit to support you... That's advertising.

@Octane - there's a difference - firstly, you don't have an option to upload photos here, so you have to be fair in allowing an alternative. I don't have access to some photo uploading service which I can't afford. I do already own a server, and I can upload pics to that webdomain. Is it not fair that I'm merely instrumentally using the domain to host a photo for the purposes of this question? If the link was an actual advertisement I'd understand. But here I've given good justification and the context is to be helpful to the question.

Yup the urls from imgur don't display, and if you do manage to get them show, it doesn't last long. I think it's some change made by imgur to how their urls work. They probably grew tired of people using their service as a regular image hosting site.

Anyway if you want to host images directly on your own server that should be ok. Just try to display them on here with IMG tags or link to them directly so it doesn't look like you're trying to make people visit your site.

@5ReaderRagfish @6Yosheel Thanks for the clarification - I have the same problem with imgur, so it's reassuring to know I can link to my own server.

So, the nut I was talking about - anybody recognise it? Can you tell me where it belongs inside the Wii Nintendo, by diagram or description?

I’ve never taken apart a Wii, but judging by the appearance of the nut Id say it’s a backing but that slots into or on top of a squared plastic area. Usually those are used on corners, and the plastic surrounding the square nut typically has one side opening to slide the nut in.

@8HobbitGamer The square nut is so tiny though - it's like 4mm. I just can't see or relate it to any part of the Nintendo Wii, but I know for sure it dropped out of my Wii. Anybody?

Maybe you’re looking from the wrong angle.

Look for a tiny square slot somewhere in the other side of the pastic/board.

You can also try to look somewhere where a screw seems to go but doesn’t stay if you put it there.
