There's also already Metal Slug Anthology, Samurai Showdown Anthology, some sort of Mega Man Collection, Sonic Mega Collection (includes Flicky and Ristar), and Sonic Gems Collection (which already has Sonic R and Sonic Championship and also Sonic CD, Vectorman, and Vectorman 2) that can all be played on a Wii. Oh yeah, there's the rare Zelda Collector's Edition, as well.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

if he meant compilation, why bring up GoldenEye? i think Hawker nailed it; it's like they're compromising by remaking them or releasing them at retail instead of just releasing the original on VC.

True. Compromise is a strange description though, since you'd think a brand new retail release would be preferable to VC. (Well, except for true nostalgia junkies I guess.) A lot more effort goes into updating a series with a brand spanking new entry or a high quality collection than releasing just a VC port.

I dont know if you can count Megaman Anniversary Collection or the Zelda Collectors Edition as a compromise since those games came out before the VC was even known of. True you can play those on the Wii which I do and the reason I havent bought any of the Megaman games, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2, OoT, or Majora's Mask on VC.
Anyway I agree with TBD in that hes talking about games they are making and putting out in retail rather than the VC, But yeah you cant really put GoldenEye in there since its not the original GoldenEye, While the Super Mario All Stars is just a port of the original SNES game they could have easily done that on the VC. But GoldenEye you couldnt really put on the VC since its a new version of the N64 game. If that was the case you should have included NSMBW in that list.

DKC Trilogy is unnecessary since they already have all three.
Tell that to Super Mario All-Stars on Wii.

DKC Trilogy is unnecessary since they already have all three. An F-Zero X remake doesn't count.
How does it not count? And they could always put in some additions to make A DKC Collection worth it. Price it at $30 or so and I'd buy it. It'd make a great follow up to DKC Returns, IMO. That or DK64 but I don't see them releasing that any time soon. Not when they got things to edit out.
...wait, that makes DK64 perfect for a retail release, doesn't it?
As far as games on disc instead on the vc would be hard to guess because some may not come because of the backwards compatability with the gamecube. Midway Arcade Treasures is a good example of this because why re-release paper-boy when it is already playable, or the mega sonic collection.
