I'm interested in the bowgun but I find playing alone with it a bit tough, so I'm sticking with SnS for now. The bowgun looks like a lot of fun though!
Also, it looks like you can't add people to your friends list unless they're online at the time? Maybe you can add offline people if you have their ID though, I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm looking for people from NL to add! My name and ID are in my sig.
I've already completed the "Guts: It`s whats for dinner" quest. It doesn't seem like the Lagiacrus chases you across the map though. It spotted me a couple of times, but I was already running/ swimming away.
I love the Great Sword and I believe I'm already a master at handling it. I can pull of a ton of combos (8+ I'm not really sure) and wiped out 3 Jaggis and 2 Jaggias all in one place without getting touched. I like the quick defense, hasn't let me down yet. The quick draw is really useful when taking down fast moving monsters but it does get annoying when I miss XD.
Looking into previous MH games, I see that there were dual swords. Too bad it isn't in Tri, I think I would of liked that weapon set. I won't know, haven't played a MH game before. Closest to DS I see is probably SnS, but I don't want a shield. Gah. So I guess I'll go with great sword and then long sword. Well, I see it's a popular choice and I like to be a little different. I like the thought of taking a 'crappy' weapon and to become good with it.
I'm awesome and i love video games. And loves Zelda ALL LOT!!! My favorite People are: Tim Burton, Conan O' Brien, Shigeru Miyamoto, an Walt Disney!! My Favorite Video Games are: Zelda, Wario ware, Pokemon, Mario, Kirby, Sonic, Professor Layton.
I'm still using the Sword (I love stunning monsters with my shield), but I'm creating and upgrading weapons of each kind in the background. I'm pretty sure I will start using a Great Sword or a Switch-Axe as the game gets harder. I too would love to play with the Bowgun more, but having spent loads of cash on ammo and then firing it all off, I'm wary of doing it again. Collecting husk thingies instead now, once I have a large stock of those I'll get combining and then go gun happy.
@Machu The way to be economical ab out ammo is to purchase it when the ship comes to port and the shop has discounts. I mainly keep husks at hand so I can combine more ammo during quests if I run out.
Combining ammo (rather than buying it) is really time consuming and not worth it. You can get 99 Normal S Lv2 at 99z when the discount is on. That's nothing.
