With the Wii firmware update, memory storage problems have become a thing of the past. With all the good games coming to VC and WiiWare along with the upcoming DLC coming in games like Monster Hunter Tri, I was thinking it is about time to upgrade my SD card in my Wii.
I currently have the official white SanDisk Nintendo Wii 2 GB (at the time the biggest card that would work). I have to say, it works great. No loss data, quick transfer rates and I still have room for more stuff.
What I really want is a "Sandisk 32GB ULTRA SDHC SD Card Class 4" which is a little pricey right now. I wanted to stick with Sandisk since they invented the SD card and I thought the class 4 speed would help my games boot up faster but is there really a difference in speed over the less expensive cards?
I have heard of cheaper 32GB SD Card alternatives but I have also heard horror stories of data files being corrupted and actual card sizes not being what they are advertised as being.
What SD cards do you use and if you have a "Ultra", "Extreme" or other high class rated card have you noticed a difference in speed in starting your games on VC or WiiWare?
Well I have no need for an SD card just yet (its been 3 years!) though I don't have that many games and downloaded content....I can probably stick in a few more games and ill probably head to wal-mart and use my wal-mart card to get the official Wii 2GB version. That should last me a long time.

I use a Sandisk 16GB class 4. Didn't cost too much, and I can store everything on there. I have 50+ games and 200+ songs for Guitar Hero 5 on there. I've never run out of room or had any data corruption. 32 would be nice, but I have not needed it yet. Whatever you do, DON'T buy one on ebay. There are a lot of fake cards that are just plastic on the inside. Go to buy.com for a good price
I'm using a a 4gb HCSD, the cheapest brand i could find in the shop (cost me 9 euros at the time) and had no problems whatsoever since I got it. I guess you really can't go wrong with the cheaper normal (that you can find in a regular electronics/multimedia store) brands since it is a really simple technology.
i've got a 1-gig white sandisk-for-wii SD card that's about halfway full.

i have a HAMA 16gig class 6 sdhc card currently in my wii. and i`ve never had a problem with it personally, i think that the transfer speed is barely noticeable between the cards you use in the wii. as i don`t think the wii is optimised for high transfer speeds with high speed cards. also, 32 gig cards are probably going to be far too big for what is necessary. considering that the sd card menu only has 20 pages. and each page would tend to have far less than 1 gig`s worth of games on them, even with the big memory munchers.
Thanks eveyone for posting. I'm getting some good info here. I also did not know that the SD Menu maxed out at 20 pages. I thought 20 was the limit of my 2 GB card not the system itself.
Now I am interested in the speed of the games starting up. Keep those replies coming.
If there is no differance between the speed of high end cards and regular cards then I don't need to spend the extra money on the card and use it for some quality games.
