I know at least one of my friends on Nintendo Life dislikes this game. But,I'm not going to say who it is. So,don't ask.

Not sure why anyone would care enough to ask.

I really want to like the game but seem to get bored with it really quickly.
Also there isn't enough variety in the enemies and I'd rather not be shaking.
I have just been reunited with my Gameboy after a decade. My Super Mario Land 3 Wario Land cartridge is in it.
Just need some new batteries and I can't wait to play that game again

I loved this game. I really liked the style and the graphics of the game and it played brilliant. Even managed to finished it with everything on 100%. Loved the Wario handhelds too and wouldn't mind seeing another 2D Wario game on any platform, or even a 2D Waluigi game.

Its great fun, but it didn't offer enough new ideas to keep me hooked. Still a great game though. The fact that Nintendo puts effort into making a sidescroller for a console system is a good thing though. I want to see more stuff like this, so I'm glad There's going to be a NSMB for Wii. Keep it up Nintendo!

Where did you hear this hatred from? I don't recall anyone here hating on it. Sure, it's the weakest game in the whole series, some of the bonus stages were incredibly cheap, and the controls were gimmicky (those submarine stages being the worst offenders of the bunch), but it was still a pretty good game. I need to dust it off sometime to finish up those achievements and collect the rest of the treasures.

Not exactly hatred , but dislike.
My friend from Nintendo Life disliked it. I'm surprised that so many people like this game.
I might just change the topic title...

I love the graphics, love the music, love the challenges, love wario (and syrup), love the boss, love the levels, love everything except the lack of replay value (why they didn't add an hard mode? like Warioland 4). It's still an excellent warioland game and my favorite on the wii so far.

I can't say that I "hate" any game. Wario Land hasn't done anything wrong to me or my family, but I think it is an awful game and a disgrace to the wonderful world of 2D. I was bored out of my mind. Levels were too short and uninteresting with virtually no challenge.

I really liked Wario Land: Shake It! It's not as good as Wario Land 2-4, though, imo (not enough crazy transformations). Better than the first, though, and DEFINITELY better than Master of Disguise (not technically a Land title, but still a Wario-starring platformer).

Even those who didn't like the gameplay have to admit that the animation is AWESOME! We need more 2D games animated like that (A Boy and His Blob looks similar, fortunately)!

Despite my name, I still haven't bought this one--need to find time to get through all the games I'm playing right now. I can't wait, however, to finally take a crack at it whenever that may be.

I'm going to go ahead, however, and predict my reaction to the game, based on numerous YouTube videos and other reviews: I'm going to love it, and complaints like those voiced by Adam (ie, too easy) will likely be nullified for me by the special challenges, like finding every treasure in every level, etc. Wario Land 4 is one of my all-time favorite platformers, and it was also very short, and not too difficult to "beat", but it had plenty of hidden things to find, and gorgeous 2D graphics, so I expect roughly the same here.

"Too easy" is just one complaint, but I am okay with easy games if they're interesting. A cut and paste sequel with added shaking controls isn't really enough to excite me. Treasure wasn't that hard to find, either.

If you're a huge fan of the Wario Land games, I guess you'll like it, but I can't see anyone preferring it to the previous Wario Land games. Easily the worst in the series I've played. I thought Wario Land for Virtual Boy was (approximately) a million times better. I unfortunately haven't played the GBA Wario Lands, but they look good.

A great game it is. Brilliant level design, character, animation, music, it's all good.

The game is easy, I have to agree with Adam. You can walk through it without too much trouble. But the real challenge is getting all the missions and finishing the game at a 100%. Some missions are really evil.

The treasures and missions are the whole point of the game though, so lack of challenge isn't really a valid complaint. It's like saying Braid is too easy if you ignore all the puzzle pieces.

Anyway, I haven't played Wario Land 2 or 3 but I definitely prefer this to 4, the levels and boss fights seemed a lot more polished to me.

The missions in which your flying bucket must not break were especially evil. It took me a lot of time to complete that mission.

I thought Wario World for GC was...okay. It wasn't bad, and there were some pretty cool levels sprinkled here and there, but you could beat it in an afternoon. It just lacked that Wario charm for some reason.

I played it, liked it, but didn't buy it, it's too short and I have issues with short games.
It's on my to buy list since it came out though.
