A monster company, thousands of employees, tremendous income, etc, etc, etc. But what are they doing??? Just magnufacturing Wiis and putting them in white boxes? How many years has been the Wii on the market? How many Wii specific games has made Nintendo along all this time? From a company like that I would expect no less than twice the number of game tittles they actually have, all of them first class games and not just more tech demos like Wii Sports or WSR.
SPECULATION ALERT:
Several months ago, several websites reported that Nintendo is spending millions (or hundreds of millions) on "Research & Development". This leads SOME to speculate that new hardware is being developed. /speculation
Concerning software, we all know the new titles that are coming from E3. Metroid Other M, SMBWii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Zelda Spirit Tracks, etc. Considering these are all AAA titles, it is an impressive lineup, and that's not even considering the software they haven't announced yet.
So Nintendo doesn't seem to be sitting counting their money at least.
No one has to speculate...Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have already been in the planning stages for new systems probably right around the release of the new systems. They're not new to this game.
You are wrong!

Finally, I am in no way the most qualified to tear apart your argument. I have friends in high places for that. cues Adam, Chicken, AlexSays, clicketyclick, Machu, and Corbie, among others P.S. Best of luck with this thread.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I actually agree with the OP.
FLAME WAR ALERT. First off, there are many who would argue Wii Sports Resort is light years ahead of a glorified tech demo, myself included, but I'll leave that to Adam and such. Secondly, you try making a billion games that are awesome! When you compare many of their games to tech demos, I assume you're talking about the Wii series. They are a different breed, yes, but even the most 'hardcore' gamer (whatever that is) should be able to enjoy the magic they've created with these game. Listen to this man, his words are full of truth and win. I don't think a mod should lock this either... not yet anyway. Heh heh.
Oh, shut up. I'm tired of hearing this every single generation. People have complained exactly like this since Nintendo 64. Nintendo has always been about fun, and quality, definitely not quantity. The reason people don't notice this with the Wii is because, unlike previous Nintendo systems, third-parties do make games for the console, and a lot of them, too. So, instead of the very small library Nintendo's consoles usually have, the Wii has a very large library, full of first-class third-part crap. This makes it hard to wade through the muck and find a game worth playing, but Nintendo never disappoints.
in before Eugene goes off because OP dared to attempt to malign Wii Sports

has clickity posted yet, I did not bother to read past the first post......?
Ben Cartwright: You and your education. Adam Cartwright: Education is progress! Now what have you got against it? Ben Cartwright: I don't have anything against education - as long as it doesn't interfere with your thinking!
I'm not gonna flame because I deleted a reply that just seemed off-topic but anyways, Nintendo should know what they're doing. Making our lifes fun is what they do for us. Why bother question them if you love their products so much? Sure, sometimes they don't always meet expectations but they deliver kick-ass titles that we core gamers wanna play. As for the next generation? Who knows? Wii 2.0 or whatever it's gonna be called may change the minds of Nintendo fanboys who thought they were leaving them behind for the casual folks.
Come here a second...(shows Ramandus something in his hand) you know what this is? This is what most people call a 'life'...tell you what, I'm going to take this (J Bitties walks 20 yards) and set it right here...when you're ready for you, you come get it.
@Mandoble-You seriously think that about Nintendo? Nintendo has TONS of good titles coming out this year, you sound like a Xbox 360 or PS3 fanboy. I sense a flame war, this will be entertaining...

J Bitties, it looks like you are suffering from what is known as Nerd's Ego.

If you're better qualified to do that, feel free to send in an application. I'm sure if you promise really nicely to "make sure we have 100 hardcore games a year", they'll give you the job immediately.
How many years has been the Wii on the market? How many Wii specific games has made Nintendo along all this time?
major Nintendo published games for Gamecube: (games in bold after the first 3 years i.e. "where the Wii is now")
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Animal Crossing
Luigi's Mansion
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Pikmin
Pikmin 2
Super Mario Sunshine
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Mario Kart: Double Dash
major Nintendo published games for Wii: (games in bold not out yet)
Animal Crossing: City Folk
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zelda Wii
Mario Kart Wii
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Metroid: Other M
Pikmin 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Paper Mario
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
so at the same time in the Gamcube's life they had 8 what I would call "major" titles while at this point in the Wii's life we have 7. However in the next year the Wii is getting a heap more major titles AND we also get the "Wii series" of games AND remakes of the Gamecube games most people didn't get. Nothing wrong here, take your overused and inaccurate complaints somewhere else
