What really good games have you missed out on buying in the past as a result of the game being discontinued, you thinking the game would be bad, or you not knowing the game was any good? (if theres a different reason, state it too please )
For me id say i missed out on: De Blob (now discontinued where i am) - never knew about it until 2 months ago and never knew it had 4 player or was humorous and was/is a great 3d platformer on wii. MLB powerpros (now discontinued) - never heard of it until alexsays told me bout it last month Metroid prime 1 (wasn't allowed to play it) - Couldn't play it when i was younger due to parent restrictions. Now i've beaten three and had gotten half way through 2 so i dont think its worth getting anymore. Resi 4 (thought it was bad) - thought it was terrible cuz of gore and wasn't allowed to play due to this as well.

Kirby Canvas Curse: I like kirby, and it sounds really fun and it's gotten good reviews, so I will get it soon. Advance Wars: Never played. Plan to buy Dual Strike around my birthday ( Just got the name Dual Strike-DS haha) And that's about it.

Why not just get days of ruin, its apparently everything the first was and more, with better graphics , i only have the first though so i cant confirm truth in the reviewers statement there.

Oh, too many to count. But I might as well list a couple:
Zelda: The Wind Waker- Hated the new art style, so I didn't play this back in the day. But now, since Toon Link became one of my favorite characters in Brawl, and it's the only Zelda I haven't played, I'm really interested in finding it.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!- Didn't buy it because I heard it sucked. But now that NLife gave it a 9 in it's review, I've decided to look for it.
Odama: Heard this one sucked even more. Still have decided to track it down though, since the concept sounds hilarious!
Ape Escape: Wasn't a big console gamer back in the day, so this one passed me by back then. Did most of my gaming on Game Boy and PC back then. The Trading Zone near me has had a copy of it for a while now, so I'll remember to pick it up.
Metal Gear Solid: Pretty much the same reason as Ape Escape, but even if I did want it, my parents probably wouldn't let me buy it due to the M rating. I did play a demo of it back then though, and it was pretty cool. Wish I still had it.
Resident Evil 4: Was turned off by the excessive gore, plus I probably wouldn't have been allowed to get it anyway. I've always heard how legendary this game is though. Now I've made sure to find the Wii version as soon as I can!
Mega Man Anniversary/X Collection: I really wanted the Anniversary Collection when it came out, but for some reason let it pass me by. I think it might have been all the stuff I heard about the series being ridiculously difficult, even though I've been interested in it since as long as I could remember. Then I tried MM2 years later on VC, and fell in love with it instantly. Now I can't find either collections anywhere!
Advance Wars series: I knew a few people who had and enjoyed this, and I've been really interested in trying it, but for some reason it always went unnoticed to me in the face of other titles. I think I'll start with Days of Ruin.
It's really hard to miss out on GC/Wii games, because you can buy them really cheap on Ebay when they're discontinued. I got LoZ WW for $12 and almost bought Canvas Curse for $7.
One good game I'm sure you've all missed out on is Mushroom Men.
I'm in Canada too. You don't need a credit card to buy off Ebay. In fact, it's better if you don't. Get a PayPal account and link it to your bank account. It withdraws directly from your bank and I think PayPal automatically insures your purchases.

Unfortunately, I don't use Ebay, though I sometimes use Amazon. I've considered getting Canvas Curse off there (along with some other games). I'll have to check the prices. As for Wind Waker, that one's pretty common in my local game shops, so I'll just get it from one of them.
As for Mushroom Men, I thought that game looked really cool in previews, but all interest I had in it died out after reading all those negative reviews.
Why don't you use Ebay? Is it a moral stand you're taking? I'm playing WW right now. Hurry up and get it and maybe I'll have someone to talk to about it while I play. I hate feeling like I'm playing a game everyone else has played already. You get all excited and want to talk about it, and everyone else just stares at you and then spoils then ending.
I think Mush is a little under-appreciated, but I suppose it's all down to your preferences. Suppose there are two musicians and you can hear only one of their concerts. The first musician plays with incredible musicality and sensitivity, but makes note mistakes. The second plays with technical virtuosity but without a hint of dynamics. Which do you hold more important: musicality or technical virtuosity?
The difficulty level doesn't challenge you much. The waggle is definitely annoying, but the further you progress in the game, the more powerful the weapons you get, and then you can kill enemies with one or two waggles. Also, the telekinesis and sticky-hand are a perhaps underutilised, considering how fun those powers using the IR pointer are. But the music, art, and design make the game so rewarding to play. Just hang-gliding around the levels trying to find all the hidden items is really fun, and not really seen in platformers. It's just fun to explore the levels, and look at how they've constructed these small worlds within our world, or swing and glide around our world with a complete perspective shift.
-Super Metroid: I had never even heard of Metroid until Super Smash Bros., so unfortunately I missed out on the series until Metroid Prime. I downloaded Super the day it came out on VC, and I absolutely love it. -Fire Emblem (The Binding Blade): I missed out on the first Western release of Fire Emblem, unfortunately for me, and it isn't an easy one to find. People say this is the best of all Western releases, so I definitely want to give it a shot someday. -Earthbound: Another game I found out through Smash Bros., I want to give this a shot and see how much I like it. -And a whole bunch more, though these are the most notable (in my mind, at least).
Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I just trust Amazon more is all. With Amazon I'm always positive that my order will always come in good condition. With ebay, however, I always feel some guys gonna pour Coke or whatever on it and ruin it. Plus, I never have to worry about having a betting competition with anyone. I feel your pain about playing popular games long after they released. I feel like that guy that watched a popular internet video weeks after it stopped being popular lol!
I'd give Mushroom Men a rental, but I don't know if my Blockbuster offers it. Maybe I'll get it if I can find it cheap.
