That is Prime 3 & Super Metroid - is this even possible? I want them both complete before Other M is released but I find I'm just wasting my weekends running round a virtual world and never getting anywhere. For example, on Prime 3 I've been looking for "the Federation Landing site" since March now. Been in every single room I can several times & this seems to be all I do each weekend. As much as I love these types of games, they can really waste your time.
Why do we spend our leisure time like this? Is it just me that feels this guilty for gaming if I don't make progress? Most of Nintendo's big games seem to be big treasure hunts. They're rewarding to finish but can be extremely frustrating.
Ha ha yeah I know - I've checked FAQs but rarely find the answer in them because it'll tell me to go through a door but my problem will be getting said door to open. It'll probably be an item I missed earlier but reading through those entire FAQs is more painful than just being lost in the game. Besides, if I have to read through another four page disclaimer and history of the Metroid series before even getting to the guide I think I'll scream. Nope - I'll have to figure this out on my own.
Hopefully I will actually finish it at some point. Prime 1 took me a year and Prime 2 two years. Some I give up on, though - never did figure out how to get to the end of Ocarina of Time
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
About Metroid Prime, this might be stating the obvious but the map really is you friend in those games. Without studying that, checking which rooms you've been in and which you need to find your way into, your just gonna get lost. There's probably an important room you missed and hopefully you can go back and find it on the map. Good Luck!
I got really far in Prime 1 but I gave up on the artifact hunt. Ever since then I haven't been able to get back into the games. The combat is really boring. :/
Super Metroid, on the other hand, is an incredible game that you should really focus on completing. It's absolutely amazing. <3
@irks: Complete that projector that's in Skytown and it'll show you where every item is, including the cells (excluding the ones actually on the Valhalla).
@madgear: What the others said. Getting lost in a post-Metroid II game? That's just not possible...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."

HOW WAS I supposed to know that!!! >: P thnx for the tip.

Oh, and in order to reveal the item locations you'll need the Nova Beam so you can shoot the switch hidden on the other side of the phazite panel at the bottom of the projector...

Is that the beam that shoots a green colored laser? I believe I have that.
@irks: Yup, that's the one. If you already have the whole projector assembled, then it's just a matter of hitting that switch behind the phazite panel to reveal all the hidden pick-ups on your map (a little tip: the 'O's are items you've yet to collect and the 'X's are items you've collected already)...

Sounds simple enough. I'll do that tomorrow and attempt to finish the game. After that, I'll make some more progress on Super Metroid.
Man, this reminds me how behind I am in Super Metroid for beating it before August 31st (even if I don't get Other M I'll feel justified to watch footage and stuff). Not that the game does a great job of encouraging you to keep playing...
Now that everyone's talking about Corruption, it reminds me that I still haven't gone back to knock out the last part of my Hyper Mode play-through; I should get back to it sometime...

Don't sweat it.
I used and FAQ to beat the artifact hunt and then got soul destroyingly stuck on the boss battle that you get as a result of using said artifacts.
