O_O You want to get 30 Wii games? Do you seriously have $1,500 lying around? ;P

Since you just got a Wii, here's some suggestions:

1. Super Mario Galaxy - A truly beautiful game, great gameplay, decent length.
2. Punch-Out!! - The motion controls are spot on, and the art style is awesome.
3. Boom Blox (#1, not the sequel) - Sure, it's not as big and there aren't as many modes, but it has more style and it feels more unique.
4. Super Paper Mario - Great platformer with some unique twists.
5. Mario Kart Wii - Fun gameplay, but the items can be ridiculously imbalanced. You can fix this in local multiplayer though.

I don't own thirty Wii games, nor do I think there are thirty truly great ones. Here's five you can't go wrong with, though:
1. Super Mario Galaxy -- One of the most fantastical and joyous gaming experiences you'll ever have... while it lasts.
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- The most bombastic, maniacal, care-free fighter. Oh yeah, it stars Nintendo characters.
3. World of Goo -- Great presentation, story, style, soundtrack... But's what's the real draw? Ground-breaking physics-based puzzle gameplay.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess -- The Wii (and Gamecube) takes this storied franchise to new graphical and presentational heights, but otherwise it's more of the same (in a good way).
5. Super Paper Mario -- Quirky, hilarious, dimension-flipping, RPG-esque, good ol' platforming fun.

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

Well the obvious one is Brawl, and a really fun one is Mario Kart. Those two should be in your collection no matter what

Other than that, everything else really depends on taste. I loved de Blob and Pokemon Battle Revolution, but I know a lot of people didn't like those games. Oh and Resident Evil 4 is a great game that you should definitely try. I wasn't a fan of RE when I played it, but I instantly fell in love with the game, it's so damn fun

Any fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction. - Albert Einstein on the Wii

changeup

Resident Evil 4 and Mario Kart Wii have treated me well. So has Zelda: Twilight Princess. World of Goo is brilliant, but I have that on PC. Wii Sports Resort will be good. If you're into FPS, look somewhere else in my opinion. Metroid Prime Trilogy may be an exception to that. Finally, New Super Mario Bros. will probably be a worthwhile experience. Hope this helps!

Wii Play- a good compilation of fun little games for those new to the Wii, with a third remote
Super Paper Mario- combines the adventure of Paper Mario with the sidescrolling fun of Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Galaxy- amazing and beautiful game. The gravity-defying effects are fantastic.
Mario Super Sluggers- far better than Wii Sports baseball, and with over fifty characters!
Mario Strikers Chaged- not much of a soccer game, but still fun nonetheless
Sega Superstars Tennis- far superior to Wii Sports tennis, but only if you're a Sega fan
Mario Power Tennis NPC- remade to use the Wii's arm-swinging controls
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat NPC- no more need for the bongos, just the nunchuck and the remote
WarioLand Shake It- looks and plays like a Wario Land game, unlike WarioWorld
SSB Brawl- nostalgia galore! Plenty of unlockables! Complex adventure mode! Awesome battling!
Mario Kart Wii- the Wiil makes it more fun, and you get retro courses
NSMB Wii- not out yet, but it's a remake of the awesome New Super Mario Bros. for DS
Super Mario Galaxy 2- only if you like Galaxy
Excite Truck- awesome off-road racing game, with various locations to race in
Mario Party 8- good for multiplayer
Twilight Princess- one of the best Zelda games ever
SBCG4AP- if you're a Homestar Runner fan, this is the game for you!

Don't forget that the Virtual Console allows you to download classic games from the NES, Commodore 64, Master System, Turbografx, SNES, Genesis, N64, and Neo Geo.

Btw, pixelman... Do you seriously consider Punch-Out!! worthy of the number 2 spot? 'Cause I was thinking about getting it.

Yes. I seriously wore out my arms playing it... and kept playing. It's so fun. Fast, responsive, funny, and awesome.
