Based on your recommendations, I bought the following used games this weekend:
Metroid Trilogy, Xenoblade and Skyward Sword
I also plan on getting Okami, Muramasa, Pikmin 1 &2, Little King's Story, Monster Hunter Tri, Last Story and Sin & Punishment.
I won't need to buy a Wii U for a couple of years now!!!
that last statement is probably not hyperbole in the slightest. Especially with the value of some of those games. Like I think Trilogy, Skyward and Xenoblade combined is likely 300 hours of gameplay if you 100 percent them all.
I am genuinely glad to see anyone else buy most of these games.

Little King's Story? I hope you have a plan B.
You know with the amount of words wasted on repeating yourself, you could have just stated a single time why you don't like the game instead of "this sucks because I said so" and having a creepy grudge against a video game that will never be successful anyway.
#6: Cooking Mama World Kitchen (A fun time waster to play in short bursts, and also Mama is super adorable in the Wii games. :3
#5: Ivy the Kiwi? (Highly addictive, and a game full of difficult, yet satisfying victories should you go for all the gold medals.
#4: Wario Land Shake it! (One of Wario's best games, and a ton of fun. Also had an amazing soundtrack and art style.
#3: Kirby's Epic Yarn (A great game to play and just relax in a quiet area. I don't really intend to try and get all the gold medals.
#2: Super Mario Galaxy (I overall like Galaxy 1 better than Galaxy 2. It had less levels that were super frustrating, it has a more detailed story, and a vastly superior soundtrack.
#1: Sonic Colours (all around perfect. Despite playing games since the NES, Sonic Colours is my all time favourite game.
No matter what the game is, try your best to find enjoyment in it for whatever reason. Sometimes a bad game just needs a bit of a shot to the arm with the imagination of a goofball :).
I wish I could get back into playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 since I loved the first one, but the last time that I tried getting back into it, I had gained at least 30 lives. Then my controls got a bit weird... while playing SwitchPlate Galaxy or whatever it's called. I ragequitted, which I rarely ever do, and turned off my Wii for a bit. When I turned the Wii back on, I had 3 lives and decided to give up. xD (I have played pretty far into it before but my data was deleted)

Thats an understatment. Xenoblade alone probably takes around 300 hours to 100 %.

I still have a huge backlog. What a great little console the Wii turned out to be. Some great 3rd party exclusives there.
EDIT: I tried tallying up everyone's vote to determine NL's community top 10. But then it was a ridiculous amount of effort and I gave up after one page. For what it's worth, SMG and SMG2 were too close too call for the number 1, and Skyward Sword was just edging out TP for number 3.
1. Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 - Masterpieces
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - I played this almost every day after school with my friends
3. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Amazing
4. Kirby's Return to Dreamland - An awesome entry in the Kirby series
5. Donkey Kong Country Returns - Oh boy, this one is hard but super fun
6. Metroid Prime Trilogy - A great pack for a great series
7. New Super Mario Bros Wii - Finally a new 2D Mario platformer on a home console
8. Mario Kart Wii - Intense action and great tracks
9. Battalion Wars 2 - A very fun war game that doesn't need real graphics to be good. The cartoony art is just awesome.
10. Wii Sports/ Wii Sports Resort - I love sports, and these are both amazing sports games
