I just checked about this "The system files are corrupted" Error that I've been getting and Nintendo says it's like a $76 Repair.
I think this is BS since it only started happening after I got the SD Card Menu firmware update and I think Nintendo is totally responsible for it. Also, I know about 15 people who are having this same issue and have had it pop up every once in a while.
I used to have this same issue, but I didn't have to send mine off for repair - and it didn't start until after the SD card menu firmware update. It used to happen the first time I turned on my Wii each day, and occasionally when I loaded up the SD card menu. But it doesn't ever do it now.
I'm not sure what sorted it out, but I can tell you that it never gave me that message if I didn't have a disc in the system when I turned it on. So I started ejecting the disc after I was done playing and then powered off the Wii. After awhile of doing this, it sorted itself out somehow, and now I never any issues, disc in the system or not.
Have you tried loading it up without a disc in the system?

Yesterday it happened to me 9 times in a row. That's the most it's ever happened. It went away for a few weeks and then it came back.
I don't think I really NEED to send it in but if I can talk nintendo into a free repair and a one year warranty I can tell all of you guys and you can get them too ya know?
Is it a particular game save that's causing this maybe? I get it too at times. I think it happens with my wii fit (been awhile since i played) it might on others, but don't recall for sure.
Anyway, it's a bunch of crap that they're going to charge you all that to fix it. I don't think it should be happening in the first place. Isn't this a "quality nintendo product? Probably just have to delete what evet file is causing it. Don't you miss the old days when you didn't have to worry about this sort of thing?
Edit: By the way....are you using one of those nintendo SD cards or another?
I also wrote in the E-Mail how there needs to be a one click backup like all the other consoles have. I have an 8GB card in my Wii and I'd love to have all my save games on it with my VC games. I don't want to go through Data Management and move 100+ save games to my SD Card. That's like ... at least 300 clicks
you know what... I think you are right about the Disk Tray thing. I don't get it when I do that either..
Like I said, it sorted itself out after leaving the disc out of the system on each turn on, and it never does it to me now - disc or no. I'd say give that a shot for awhile and see how it works.
Also, I'm not sure why they quoted you $76 - when I called about it, they admitted that it was their mistake and that they would fix it for me for free (but I'd probably lose all my data, which I wasn't willing to risk). Maybe they won't do it for free since they've put out subsequent patches.

This has happened to me too much, I have sent my Wii in for the 5th time, and I doubt it will be fixed when I get this Wii back. It all started when I got Wii Fit Plus.

Hello, Thanks for writing! I’m glad you’ve taken the time to alert us to the issue you’re having with your Wii console. I’m confident that it can be resolved. While I would normally be able to provide you with a written response, your situation requires that you speak to us by phone. That way, we can get all of the details and work out the best solution. At your earliest convenience, please contact Nintendo’s Consumer Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700 any time between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.
By the way, I'm afraid that there is not an automated way to back up all of your save files with one click. You'll need to move each file one at a time.
Holy crap I saw Corrupt Files on the title of this article and it peaked my interest. I had downloaded the Club Nintendo Version of Doc Louis Punch Out and started getting that problem when I would try to go back to the home menu. I could play it would be fine. When I hit home on the Wiimote it would pause and the black corrupt files screen would pop up. I have seen it about 5 or 6 times and I tried out Doc Louis again a few days ago and it did not do it. So I am not sure what it is but I do believe it has something to do with the SD card loading. Maybe the BIG N can do a new system update to fix these problems if enough people let them know about it. Kinda sucked to hear I might have to send it back. I have all my systems hooked up since the NES and they all still work fine, even the virtual boy,. would hate for this to be the first one that is not engineered well. Anyone else have the doc louis and had this problem leave a response.
I seriously believe this is something that affects every Wii owner at least once. I wonder why we've never read about it anywhere like Kotaku or Joystiq
I hate how Nintendo doesn't have a real customer service anymore... Everything is "Thanks for the email pls call instead"
It's easier to just go ahead and call them anyway. That way, the rep can work with you on finding the problem and resolving it

@GMo4824 It wasn't nonstop until the last time. I even kept my Wii unplugged all night, and in the morning I tried to play it, but still got the system files corrupted message.
@lz2010 I have never had a Wii problem that they could solve over the phone. In my opinion, the call center people are worthless as far as help goes. All they can do is set up the repair.

Depends on what your problem is. Many of my issues are just minor ones that tech support helps with
