Since Nintendo is publishing I have high hopes for this coming overseas, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait 6-12mos. for localisation - unless that was happening in parallel. They'll want this to be an "event" title and not conflict with Zelda I'd imagine, so I'm thinking Xmas 2011.
This and Xenogears (also published by Nintendo I believe?) are both the Nintendo games I'm hoping for localisation the most.
Oh, man, this just keeps looking better and better Definitely my No.1 hyped upcoming Wii game with Conduit 2 being second.
If it's anywhere NEAR the quality of the first ten Final Fantasy's (though I haven't played FF 3, 5, 7, 8, or 10 yet), I will cry in happiness.
Also, kinda off-topic, but I hear that some of the original creators of Final Fantasy (maybe the guys working on this game) will be developing FF XV. Here's to a revival of excellent Square RPG's with the Last Story and FF XV!
@Qwikman The Last Story isn't a Square RPG. It's developed by Mistwalker and published by Nintendo. There are a number of key ex-Square people on the development team of TLS however.
As for FF, I've pretty much given up all hope and interest in the series until I see some solid evidence that XV is any good.
Mistwalker won't be making FFXV. The most likely candidate for XV's development is Kitase and Toriyama's team(FFX-2 and XIII) but I'd like to see Hiroyuki Ito(VI, IX, XII) direct it. That's off topic though.
It's always funny to point out just how many Nintendo games are made by ex-Square people though... Line Attack Heroes, Xenoblade and The Last Story are all from ex-Square people... and the Mario and Luigi series of course.

Here's a Japanese video presentation featuring a bunch of gameplay and stuff. It's an hour long, I think. I haven't watched it all yet. Skip to around 10 minutes for the gameplay.
How does it look too easy? Sakaguchi is using a much higher level party than the norm and he has to reset because he gets hit twice.:S

You can't just bash the attack button though because if you don't block and dodge you can die in a second(it took literrally two hits to knock a super levelled Elza to a quarter of his hit points) and you have to protect your mages whilst they cast their spells.

^Ok, well that sounds better. The game looks great but i hope it will not be too much action oriented. I don't ever want to play another FF XII through (shivers).
It looks pretty fun, but so far I don't like the art style. Everything I've seen so far seems to be ruinish and sepia-toned, with no forests or anything really pretty to look at.
I swear I heard seagulls during at least one of the battles.
The hair on the characters looks really messy and bizarre.
oh yeah and it looks fun and stuff.
Good to see someone other than Nintendo can make Wii games that look better than your average GCN game (even if I don't like the grey brownness of it).
My most hyped game but I hate the brown and grey color scheme. Seriously havent the heard of primary and secondary colors. the concept art look better because they used varied colors Imo. I happy 4 the MH3 type online but why no headset do japs hate talking to eachother sheesh.
I've seen that they might or might not be selling pre-order give outs (or probably first press edition) ONLY in Japan game store's. Which comes with a Bonus Soundtrack CD and a book of some sort, if you like, I'll try to dig up more information
That video is fantastic. Thanks for that! Looking at it in action, I like the artistic direction a lot. It's very reminiscent of Vagrant Story and FFXII, but with a more stylish look. I love how during tutorial portions, the character models seamlessly turn into hand-drawn artwork. Very cool.
The environment effects - like launching a fireball to destroy pillars which fall on your enemies - are really amazing. Sheesh, this video is over an hour long. Looks really great so far though!
