G4 used to be the best and only channel about wall-to-wall gaming until 2005 when Neal Tiles was hired as G4's new CEO and not only cancelled all gaming shows except X-Play and Attack of the Show but replaced it with shows that didn't have nothing to do with gaming (i.e. Cops, Cheaters, Star Trek, etc.). I mean was G4 on crack when the hired him as their new CEO. I mean about 5 years ago I discovered G4 and the first show I ever saw on that channel was Filter (That countdown show with that Japanese girl) and fell in love with that Channel until STAR TREK was added to the channel. I'll also never forget that infamous announcement on Attack of the Show about Heroes and Lost coming to their Network, I actually cried and lost faith in G4. However last year they actually ran a new block for Summer called "G4 Rewind" and it was pretty good it had reruns of G4's "Golden Age" shows but not good enough for that douchebag Neal Tiles who discontinued it when it was doing so well. Oh and don't even get me started with the G4 forums they're pretty bad. Some a-hole named "Twidget" was cyberbullying me and I tried to report him but instead the damn Mods tried to ban me instead and stuck up for that user despite the fact he was very rude to me. All in all G4 is nothing more than a carbon copy of Spike TV and instead of Viacom suing G4 for for copyright infringement, they have to cause trouble on YouTube be removing videos that infringe on their rights instead they should be focusing on trying to sue G4 instead, damn hypocrites! By the way, the idea of "Viacom should be suing G4" was not my idea, I have a friend on YouTube who's name is "Anime Jason" and he came up with this idea not me. But yeah, G4 sucks and has been doing so since 2006 when they hired that d-bag Neal Tiles! I also hate him for canceling Code Monkeys for no apparent reason!

I stopped watching G4 a good number of years ago.

I used to enjoy it when I had Direct TV and it was still Tech TV . I would watch at least 2 hours a day.

I watched it last year at a friends house and it was not very entertaining television.

The last time I watched it, that Leo Laporte guy was on it very regularly. (Am I thinking of the right channel?). Is he even still alive?

As for my opinion on G4, I never watched it, so I don't care.

I started watching G4 in 2004 when they showed nothing but gaming shows like Filter, Judgment day show (with Victor Lucas and Tommy Tellrico), Starcade and plethora of other gaming shows, and I thought it was great. I always liked the original G4 shows because they were always filmed in nice locations in sunny California. Now it has very little to do with video games other than X-play which is not as good as it used to be. I never liked that fact that they added all other TV shows (except Cops because I like that show) and it seems to cater to druken frat boys than video games. G4 at one time was TV for gamers but not anymore. Yes it has clearly gone downhill and I don't expect it to improve anytime soon. Human Wrecking Balls...Please enough is enough

I watched it once a week or so, back in 2004-5, but it was still pretty bad then. The industry insults us with the content they feed to the "gamer" demographic. Then again, maybe "we" insult ourselves by watching it. By we, I mean those who put up with it... of which I am not included.

You're thinking back to the good ol' TechTV days with shows like The Screen Savers(which somehow morphed into the garbage that is Attack of the Show....) and Call for Help. Unfortunately TechTV was bought by G4 and ultimately destroyed.

That "d-bag" is the only CEO I'm aware of who speaks directly to fans and answers their questions. Had you consulted him about Code Monkeys as someone else did in his "Open Source" column you would have learned the following:

"...However, the second season didn’t perform as well as we’d hoped. In fact, we even saw some steps backwards in key demos, which is why we have not made a final decision on a Season Three as of yet. As you may or may not know, animated series are not cheap to produce, so it’s a bet that we need to feel confident making given the limited resources available to us. I don't really watch G4 that much, but the crying about it is pretty darn funny. At least it isn't Tech Tv anymore. That channel was so sad I expected ESPN to give it a wedgie and cram it in its locker.

i watch G4 occasionally because they show Cops and sometimes Code Monkeys... also, Ninja Warrior if there's seriously nothing else on any other channel to watch. Sadly, too many of their 'Movies that Don't Suck' actually do suck, and their actual TV shows generally suck too. :/

Oh, and I watch Web Soup too... hahaha, it's The Soup, but for denizens of the intertubes. I love it. either way, i'm not one to get worked up over one TV channel showing crap i don't want to watch when there's hundreds of others out there also showing crap i don't want to watch. :3

I remember when TechTV aired Robot Wars. Now that was an awesome show (sure it didn't have anything to do with video games, but I don't care).

Maybe if they had more shows during the day instead of COPS and Cheaters on all the time, then I would watch G4 like I used to.

Oh, and if they would show Code Monkeys more often, love that show. Same with Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke. AOTS and XPlay are starting to lose their lustre.

Meh, my cable package sucks. I keep on begging my mom to get us Direct TV or Dish, but she says it's "too expensive", even though we pay $50 for out current package.

@khaoz: your mom may not want to deal with all the strings that come attached to signing up for Direct TV and Dish Network. it's completely understandable IMO... sorry dude. :/
