Capcom has squashed the dreams of those hopeful its newest cross-over fighter, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, will come to PS3 and/or Xbox 360. Speaking to VideoGamer.com, the game's producer, Ryota Niitsuma, stated that the effort required to port the heavily Wii-optimized title would be considerable. "If we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it," he told the site.
Not confirmation of a sequel, but a promising comment nonetheless. Niitsuma said that "we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii," with regard to bringing the series to other platforms. Since Niitsuma wouldn't say it himself, we'll go ahead and do it for him: "Buy the first one if you want to see a sequel." See, that wasn't so hard.
That is a good thing to hear from Capcom, it also helps that the game was make for the Wii from day one. I will be picking it up as I am fighting game fan, 2D graphics still rock, and Vs. serious are very fun to play. Who here at NL going to get this game?
I don't care about anime but do love fighters, so I might pick it up. It's a shame that it will only be coming to the system with the worst online experience.

Ok, I mean this with all seriousness but it's because I have no knowledge of Tatsunoko but...why would/should I purchase this game over Street Fighter IV? I mean, is most of the appeal based off the Tatsunoko brand? Are the controls supposed to be amazing? i'm just very curious why the hype is so great for this game. If it's only because it's a 2D fighter for the Wii, then i probably won't be purchasing...
I'm really looking forward to this game. I love anime & want a 2d classic fighter to sit alongside SSBB. I hope that with Capcom's experience an online mode will not be as laggy. But , for me, no online = no purchase.
I'm definitely getting this. I don't care for anime much, but I always wanted to try the vs. Capcom series (despite not liking fighters), and I really want to play as Viewtiful Joe in a fighting game!
I'll be buying it on the Wii as soon as it gets released.
And even if you've never heard of Tatsunoko before or its characters, that shouldn't stop you from enjoying playing as the Tatsunoko characters despite not having a clue who you're playing as. My belief is that obscure characters are about the same as brand new characters.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I agree. Plus, you might get interested in them and watch their anime and find that it's awesome. It's win win!
