Topic: Super Mario 64 Remake?

The game known as Super Mario 64 was my favourite game on the N64. I beaten the DS remake. But that one isn't as good as the original because of the broken controls. I was really wondering if Nintendo could ever remake the game again but this time on the Wii. With good controls using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

Best thread ever.

Doubtful. The VC port is good enough for me though. Why mess with success and/or take people away from the Mario Galaxy 2 work. Whahoo!

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

After the DS Version, We don't need another new version of the game. Nintendo should just let it be now and concentrate on other games.

i'm with token girl -- since it's on the VC, and with SMG so successful that it's getting a sequel, i highly doubt Ninty would bother. mario 64 ds was so boring, frankly, that i don't think i'd want to see them remake it yet again, either. who knows how they'd screw it up. :/

At this point, I think Mario 64's formula is too outdated to revisit. Having to go into the same stage over and over to collect a bunch of stars? Mario 64 still has enough nostalgic value that I'll do that, but the DS game lacked the nostalgia, and I found myself becoming bored. Mario Galaxy did the same thing, I know, but it made sure to put each star in a separate branch of the level, so it didn't feel completely like the same level over and over again.

Why the HELL do people say that the controls for Mario 64 sucked? They were fine!

Nintendo could always do a Mario collection on one disc, they could make it with Wii controls, all though using a game cube controller is quite easy. I only know the game though the VC and have tried to play it on the N64. I can't really complain about the controls because back in the day the N64 controller did the job and they (Nintendo) designed it around Mario. A remake of a classic isn't likely all though it is on my list of games that should get play with new controls treatment, like the Pikmin and Mario tennis titles did.

The controls in Mario 64 DS are not broken--I didn't have any problems with the controls. And I thought it was superior to the original in every way.

I wouldn't say superior, but they were certainly satisfactory. Certainly weren't bad enough to justify two remakes so close together.

I hated the DS version, a) for the controls, b) because it dared to change my 2nd favourite game ever.

Mario 64 is perfect in my eyes despite the supposedly iffy camera (which I never had a problem with, being a half decent gamer). No need for a remake, one was too many in my opinion.

I don't think a remake is likely, considering there are already 2 "sequals" and another one planned. Considering there already is the DS remake, I don't see the point of making another remake for wii. DS didn't have many 3d platforms, but Wii already has that genre covered.

Just let it happen.

A direct sequel would be better.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
