Anybody else get that message that the Brawl Smash Service is ending at the end of this month and that submissions will be cut off then? That's crazy, it's barely been a year since EU's even had the game, right?

Yeah, I didn't really use it that much either. I thought it was dumb that they don't let you save them and they get deleted the next day. There were some very nice stages some days, but the homerun contest vids and screenshots got stale.

Maybe the lagging will stop also?

Maybe, now that people don't have to download maps it means that there won't be as much stress on the server. But I don't think online multiplayer in Brawl is server based, just client-to-client. So, it all depends.

While I don't think anyone used the "Smash Service" very much, it's disappointing to see it go all the same. It feels as if Smash is dying somehow, or that we should stop playing the game.

Playing it online is pretty boring anyway, IMO. Too sterile w/o voice chat. I'll stick to the PC for online multiplayer.
Kind of sad to see the custom map downloads leave, though.

Not to mention you can only play 2 min. matches if the people aren't your friends. Now that's BS. This and the Smash Service are two things that, like Nintendo's other online play ideas, was a good idea executed poorly.
