I felt bad. That's ultimately why I picked up MadWorld; I felt bad that I had done such a crappy job of supporting third-party Wii games the past few years. So when I saw the little guy for $10 at Gamestop, I figured, "ahhhh what the heck"?
Wow. I mean REALLY wow. This game is fantastic.
It looks phenomenal, for starters; easily one of the most visually impressive and all-around creative presentations I've seen this generation. I love my PS3, but after playing a good chunk of games for it, you kind of get this weird sense that the same art-direction/graphics people are working on every game. Every "realistic" looking game has stiff characters with weirdly shiny skin. This game looks like nothing I've ever played before, and it makes me downright proud to be a Wii owner.
And the gameplay.Dude. A beat-em-up that actually rewards you points for killing enemies as creatively (/sadistically) as possible? I'm in.
Seriously, guys, if you haven't picked up MadWorld (and you're over the age of 17 of course)do it. It definitely won't be for everyone, but you owe it to yourself to at least try.
Anyone else love this game? I'd really be interested to see what people thought of it, being late to the party and all.

I've had it for a while now. I was sceptical of it at first. I kept hearing how great it was so I decided to try it for myself. I'm glad I did. It is a really cool game. The announcers say some pretty hillarious stuff. It gets repetitive after a while but the first time will no doubt make you chuckle. The gruesome ways to kill your enemies are awesome and alot of fun. Nothing like slamming a guy down on a metal pole ass first and watching blood spray out of his mouth! I used to think Mortal Kombat was Gory. Damn this game is kick ass ! You've made a Wise purchase indeed. Now let's have a sequel!

If you haven't heard John DiMaggio impersonate Tracey Morgan in the commentaries to the new Futurama DVD set, you owe it to yourself to do so immediately.

I don't think I've ever heard so many good things packed into one regular-sized sentence.

I looked on YouTube and only came up with Tracy Morgan doing what he does best.
At ten dollars, of course it's gonna feel like money well spent. After spending fifty on it though, I was disappointed. It goes from being really awesome at the beginning to tedious towards the end. I felt the same way about the first No More Heroes. And partway into the game I just turned off the commentators. .
BTW, if you bought the game used, that's not helping third parties out.

That's not always true. I bought Castlevania Judgement and Harvey Birdman for eight bucks each, but I'm not about to start up any threads to crow about them.
Mad World is awesome. The first guy I pummeled fell back over some scenery, leaving his legs at Jack's chest level. I used the chain saw on him not really expecting anything to happen to a defeated enemy--and it cut his legs off at the knees! That is some serious attention to detail. I haven't finished the game yet but I like it more than NMH2. Just make sure you turn off the music and commentary.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the annoying hip hop music. I turned that off too. Only sound effects was best.

I realize it's not really helping them out, but I felt like I should at least play their games, right? I just felt bad that I had missed out on so many 3rd party experiences. It's kind of impossible to find a lot of these games new now, but it doesn't make the game any less quality

I thought it was fantastic for the first 30 minutes I played it...then the next 30 minutes it was alright....and I don't think I ever got past the hour mark. Despite attention to detail and interesting ways to mame people, I just had no desire to continue playing. I beat the boss of the first stage and he was kinda cool I guess...I dunno overall it just felt like a sluggish beat em up with subpar rap music as the soundtrack.

I love the NMH series and never got bored of them but I was never sure how much I would like this. It just didn't appeal to me but now that it's cheap, I might try this out.
