I bought the game, and was gravely disappointed at Lock n' Chase and BurgerTime. Having played both games on the Gameboy (and they're also available through the 3DS virtual console), and they're awesome, I was expecting at least a playable console/arcade version. But they are horrible! It looks awful. Do you feel the same? Am I missing something about that?

Anyway, I highly recommend you buy these games from the 3DS shop. Some other games on the disc are good enough I guess, but it was a huge disappointment. Maybe I'll get used to these versions later on.

Not only does the 3DS come with an SD card, but it also happens to come pre-installed with one, additional dimension.

@stromboli You mean Data East Arcade Classics.

Honestly the only game I bought it for was Magical Drop 3. It's on the VC as well, but at 900 Wii points! It was just a better deal to have the physical copy.

I bought both the SNK and Data East Collections and love them both very much. I agree that the games are kind of hit and miss a little, but still its a great selection of games. On the Data East Collection I love Bad Dudes and how at the end of each level the guy would say Im a Bad Dude!, And at the end they grab a Hamburger or something with what looks like Ronald Reagan. I remember playing the arcade as a kid. The Metal Slug Collection is great also.

@Gamesake yep, and I agree! That game looks awesome. It's just that I don't understand why the graphics of BurgerTime and Lock n' Chase look like that. There's something wrong - why couldn't they design it like in the Gameboy? Why does it look like stick figures? It's plain messed up.

Well, Lock 'n Chase and BurgerTime were made in like 1981 when graphics quality was still developing (and I believe both were distributed on cassette tapes, though I don't know how the storage capacity compares to ROM chips).
So the GameBoy versions benefited from about 10 years of technological advances.

That makes Pacman an even greater achievement, then.

The arcade versions of BugerTime and Lock 'n Chase both have a sharper image and the colors are more vibrant then the Wii version. The accuracy of the conversion depends on the skill of the developers and the support from the publishers. G1M2 worked on the Data East Collection but I'm not sure who did the GameBoy ports. G1M2 also developed SNK Arcade Classics 0 for the PSP and that compilation had issues. I wished Majesco went with another developer like Japanese company M2 who created the Genesis/MD emulator for the Virtual Console or Backbone Entertainment.
