Topic: Should I do the Wii to Wii U transfer?

We only have 2 days left before the transfer option disappears so I was wondering whether it is worth doing it. I've gone all this time without feeling the need to transfer all my Wii data so do I really need to do it?

Is there an option to only select certain game data to transfer? People made the point that I could no longer use the GameCube controller to play games like Mario Kart Wii etc.

First of all, I found it funny when I read the title on the main page and the profile picture next to it says "yes".
Second of all, if you haven't had a need to do it before, why would you need to do it now?

I wasn't aware that the transfer option was going to disappear. Do you mean that you won't be able to download the transfer tool software or are they really going to stop you from using it? If it's the former, you could just download it and use it later if needed.

And no, there's no option to select certain data. It's pretty much all or nothing.

It's its, not it's.

Speaking from past experiences, the original Wii is pretty finnicky and stops reading discs (at least the fancy double layer ones) quite often, so moving to the Wii U might be a wise choice if you fear not being able to play your disc-based games and losing that data.

...but thinking back on it, didn't the Wii U have SD card support? So couldn't you just transfer your data that way?

Lol the irony

The transfer tool will cease working completely after 31st January so this will be the last ever chance to use it.

@pikku Can't transfer the files directly because of DRM.
