Official Nintendo Magazine's review of Punch Out Wii confirmed there are a total of 13 opponent boxers in the game. Those of you who have been following the game closely will know that so far 11 of other 13 opponents have been confirmed:

1. Aran Ryan
2. Bald Bull
3. Bear Hugger
4. Disco Kid
5. Don Flamenco
6. Glass Joe
7. Great Tiger
8. King Hippo
9. Pinston Hondo
10. Soda Popinski
11. Von Kaiser

That leaves 2 characters who we don't know about. Disco Kid has been confirmed to be the only brand new opponent so we can count out either of these slots being filled by original characters which means they have to be characters which were in a past PO game. So here's a list of characters we can rule out:

  • Mike Tyson (obviously)
  • The Brusier Bros. (an official interview with the game's developers confirm this)
  • Kid Quick (very unlikely since he only ever appeared in the original arcade game)
  • Pizza Pasta (see above)
  • Gabby Jay (Glass Joe has filled the 'pathetic first boxer' slot)

There needs to be an 'ultimate fighter' for the final opponent: Mr. Dream, Mr. Sandman or Super Macho Man could fill this slot. As for the other character, maybe one of those three? Personally I'm hoping for Narcis Prince, Dragon Chan or Masked Muscle.

I know who they are they are Corbie and Chicken Brutus. lol

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

It's true. He and I are the "Bruiser brothers" this time around.

They never did tell us which one was the better fighter though...

Am i the only one whos dissapointed in there only being one new character?
I know old characters have new moves though.
I mean i'd rather have like 7 new characters and 7 old ones. But still purchasing this game.

Hopefully it will be Mr. Sandman and Super Macho Man. Mr. Dream is kinda lame.

1UP played this yesterday and they accidentally selected World Circuit from the menu. While it was on the screen for short while, you could clearly see Super Macho-Man and Mr. Sandman. There was also third boxer looking other way. He was white, bald, and wore red trunks, so I would assume he is Soda Popinski. This means the line-up is following:

1. Aran Ryan
2. Bald Bull
3. Bear Hugger
4. Disco Kid
5. Don Flamenco
6. Glass Joe
7. Great Tiger
8. Mr. Sandman
9. King Hippo
10. Pinston Hondo
11. Soda Popinski
12. Super Macho-Man
13. Von Kaiser

There also seems to be five circuits, meaning that either some boxers appear twice, Title Defence mode is split into two circuits, or there are hidden boxers.

Good eye, man! Regardin the "some boxers appear twice" possibility, I remember reading somewhere that EVERY boxer appears twice. We'll see if that's true when the game comes out, but I'd like that. (Each boxer having an easy mode and a pro mode? Yes please!)

But I guess this means Chicken Brutus and Corbie are unlockable, hidden characters...

Oh they do. As revealed by Gamesradar, in Title Defence mode, you defend your title against each boxer in the game. Every boxer has learnt new tricks, and the dynamics are completely different. For example, Glass Joe goes to doctor and discovers that he has **drumroll** weak jaw! Doctor gives him helmet that makes him immune to any attacks on head. Supposedly Title Defend Glass Joe is more dangerous than Super Macho-Man is during original World Circuit. King Hippo, in the other hand, tapes huge manhole cover to protect his belly. These additions basically ramp number of boxers to 26.

Great Thread....
Which pre-order game site did you guys use to order Punch-out?
Post the link if its cheaper than $49.99 - Toys"R"Us. If you dont mind!
I found this site offering a free Punch-Out game.
Usually I ignore them but I know some people that have actually got iphones and
even a mac book for free! Check out the link. Hope it works and will have to remove it soon.
