I can not seem to find a topic for either of the Pikmin games (at least the first 2) except for the one for new Play Controls Mario Tennis and Pikmin 2, so I wanted to make a topic just for Pikmin as a whole, if that's alright. If I'm just bad at finding stuff please let me know.

Definitly a fan of this series myself. Played the Gamecube games back when they came out, and recently again with the New Play Controls. Part way through Pikmin 2 right now. Really looking forward to 3 for the Wii U.

One thing I was wondering, is if anyone would know the best way I might be able to get ahold of a little bit of merchindise for not too much (my desk has sort of a Nintendo theme to it, sooo...). Anything from figures, music, whatever. Or the same Red Pikmin plush that Miyamoto had in his pocket during this past E3 .

(Not very many Pikmin fans around here?)

Found that there is apparently a flower that's known as 'The Pikmin Flower'

For merchandise I say check online like Ebay or maybe google something like Pikman figures and see what comes up. You can probably just wait too and they might bring out a bunch of merchandise when the third game comes out as well.

I'd hope. Seems so hard to find that kind of stuff in the US, or at least in West Virginia.

You can find the plushes on ebay easily (including the one Miyamoto had). I have all 5 Pikmin plushes with flowers. You can find them fairly cheaply although for some reason, most on ebay don't seem to have their tags (IDK if that's a problem for you but it certainly is for me). Aside from that there are plush toys for Olimar, Louie, and a Bulborb but they are absurdly expensive and don't pop up too often. There are also figures from japan that can be found on ebay but they too are quite expensive. Just keep you eyes peeled on ebay when Pikmin 3 comes out. I'm sure there will be some merchandise (In Japan at least). Oh and that flower thing is neat! I'm telling my dad to get some Pikmin flowers and plant them in our yard

I picked up Pikmin 2 yesterday for the Wii. I'm on Day 3 and I like it a lot more than I thought I would.

How about this one?

EDITL Really, beneath it's sweet exterior, Pikmin is a series that can be pretty morbid at times.

Maybe because there's an actual Pikmin game coming out?

ALSO BECAUSE PIKMIN IS THE GREATEST THING EVER.

Doesn't Mega Man have some massive fan thread somewhere around here? Pikmin apparently only has a tiny little one that just started today...

I've checked out the Pikmin games, and I just don't believe I would find this type of game very enjoyable at all.

As for the plushies, you can get them on ebay. I've got the red, yellow, purple and blue ones. Watch out for the cheap squishy looking ones.

You could also try to track down Miyamoto and wrangle his away.

I just got the new Wii Pikmin 2 yesterday. (Since it's only been out stateside for 10 days for the Wii. Hence why I have not played it yet.) And I've got to say, while it is loads of fun, it's downright HARD! The worst fact is that you can only get five or so Purple/White Pikmin at a time, and then only in caves. But I have paid 70% of the debt off already. (Of course I've been playing it almost non-stop).

@WingedFish I also just bought Pikmin 2 two days ago. It's definitely worth the $20. Not only is it fun and challenging, but I registered it on Club Nintendo and got 60 more coins! Now I'm only 20 coins away from being a platinum member. The best thing is my coins don't expire until next year!

What does everyone think of the post-apocolyptacy (I don't think that's a word)?

Since when was a game being 'hard' a bad thing? Makes it all the more appealing in my eyes.
I felt that the first pikmin was one of the more challenging nintendo games(The final boss gave me quite the bit of Mr. T touble!), but at the same time i accidently made the entire expereince harder for myself because i completely made the mistake 'thinking' that you had to send your pikmin back in the pods before your time ran out and it entered night time. This took up even more time....All you had to do was find your remaining pikmin and have them with you regardless of where you were in the stage...Right?

And yay, i got my copy of Pikmin 2 for the Wii a few or so days ago in the mail. I honestly never thought Nintendo would of released in in the NA.

I didn't necessarily say I hated it. Actually, I like how it's more difficult. I just get frustrated sometimes when I pass by treasures underground that I can't get because the Pikmin I need to get them aren't with me (or they got killed at a previous sub level). And then I have to go back to the surface and start over. But overall, I'm loving the game as a whole.
