Topic: Phone message from-a Mario!

So i have NSBWii reserved at Game Stop. I get home from work today and there's one of those pre-recorded reminder messages on the machine from Game Stop. Starts out in a normal voice with "This is Charles Martinet, calling on behalf of Game Stop. Of course, you may recognize my more better like this: (entering Mario voice) Hello! It's a me, Mario! Hoo Hoo!" It goes on with Charles doing Mario's voice and telling about the game and Game Stop for a full minute or two. Very Cool! Anyone else pre-order from GS and get the message?

i just checked my phone and totally had the preorder message. that is one man who really has fun doing his job. wonder how much of that message was scripted vs. ad-libbed, lol. :3

Is it just me or does Martinet sound like he's lost it?

i wonder how much he gets paid... maybe he was just especially happy for whatever bonus Ninty/Gamestop gave him for doing that message for them? lol

That call totally made my day! I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. Most Gamespot's are having an early opening for NSMBWii (which I think is better than a midnight opening, personally.) so I'm getting up bright and early Sunday morning!

I heard the calls on another site.

Those were probably the longest spoken lines Mario's ever had.

Seriously, i was amazed how long the message was. Usually these celebrity-endorsement messages are very short, but the message is probably more Mario lines than Martinet's done in all the games put together!

Charles Martinet seems like such a nice guy. I'd love to meet him.

It's the guy who says "Woohoo." I hardly would call that "celebrity." I mean, yea, he's famous in smaller circles, but calling him "celebrity" sounds like he might hang around with Tom Cruise on weekends.

EDIT: okay, I listened to it again by myself, and I understood it.

I was playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 online when Mario called. The answering machine was nearby. I starting cracking up and kept getting killed because I couldn't stop laughing & had to replay the message. Still couldn't stop laughing. Finally, the match on Warfare ended and I got out of there. BEST PHONE CALL EVAR. lol. hehe.

Picking the game up tomorrow, bright & early. Can't wait. Its going to be fun.
