Does anyone EVER actually play these at parties?

The only games I've ever played at a party are things like Rockband, SingStar or occasionally a dancing type game as opposed to games which are essentially Snakes and Ladders with motion controls.

I mostly play Brawl at parties. Wario Ware and Bomberman are also great, sometimes Boom Blox, Mario Party, Tomena Sanner, DDR, depending on the people.

one time we tried playing Mario Party on Wii, but it bored us, so we wound up going to Drunken Mario instead, lol (SMB, basically take a drink every time you die; the more you drink, the more you wind up dying, etc. and so forth >:3). usually Rock Band turns out to be more fun, though, especially with someone singing on the mic :3

Party games... there aren't many that are actually that fun. I played Fuzion Frenzy (on the Xbox) once or twice with friends and that was lots of fun, but that game was pretty standard stuff.

Usually I've found multiplayer brawlers or those music games are best for parties with lots of people.

Does Warioware Smooth Moves count as a party game? I've played that at wii parties and had a blast with all the fast paced randomness.
Besides that NSMBW, and Wii Sports Resort is what I typically play at parties. Tried playing Brawl at one but everyone was frustrated that they kept flying of stage. (Keep in mind since I don't have gaming friends that the people at these are all non-gamers)

Our wii parties usually consist of NSMBWii (in fact, people request it when they come over), Boom Blox Party (for a more laid back type gathering) or Wii Sports. I've done Mario Party a couple times, but just in short doses. And for my parents... Wii Play. Sounds odd, but my mom can't stop laughing at the bull-riding one and my dad likes pool. Oh, and Mario Kart, for the siblings and Brain Academy for the in-laws. Wow, just thinking about it, Nintendo has totally infiltrated my time with my friends and family... it's great

Buying an Xbox gets you friends? I wonder how that will work out for him...

Usually when I'm with the fam for events we play Wii Sports, Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii.

Hey, sorry to revive an old thread, but just thought I'd mention that we tried "Just Dance 2" at our last get-together, and it was seriously the most fun ever!!! We had about 8 couples over, so the duets were hilarious (Bollywood!!!). So, if anyone is trying to find the ultimate 'Party Game', I'm highly recommending Just Dance 2. So much fun (plus, as an added bonus, I just found my new best work-out).

Pretty much always comes back to Mario Kart Wii when I have family/friends over.

I usually find that having a console going at parties, unless they're really big, ends up having everyone sitting around watching a couple of people playing games. Not so much fun - it kills the mood! I tend to only fire it up if everyone can play at the same time (i.e. four or less people around)

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

I dont really understand the term "party game" being how most consoles only have up to 4 players at a time. (And come on 4 people is hardly a party) but I always seem to find myself playing games such as mario kart more than minigame based games like mario party and wario ware.

If you go to a party, to play party games.
Then that is one sad party.....

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Most of my friends who come over now don't really play games, so I can't bring myself to invest in "party" titles (or more than two remotes). We do a lot of board/card game nights though. I'd like to get Wii Party, because I think it would be fun. I just don't think I could get 4 people over to play it enough to be worthwhile.

Used to play MKWii a lot drunk a couple years ago. Wii Sports used to come out at parties as well, but WSR was basically just my BF and me (good times all around though). Guitar Hero/Dance Central are hits at one of my friend's places.

I sort of miss the days of high school. No drinking, so you have to do something. SSB/Goldeneye tourney's on N64 were the best. The only actual "party" game I played regularly was Sonic Shuffle back in high school. That was a sweet party game. Sonic Tanks! Fun Fun Sonic! Over the Rainbow! Jump the Snake! Accidents! SoniCola? I STILL play that when my brother is home from school. $50 well spent.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.
