Yay! I eagerly await this review, but I suspect another 7/10 in the works. Just because this game doesn't do it for everyone. And don't worry NeoRausch; I haven't finished it, either, but I'm at the very end...I think. It's a pretty freaking long game if you do all the side-quests along the way, which is what I've been doing.
Every time I see that cute looking game in a shop, I am really tempted to try it out. But obviously, being h-core n stuff, I usually pick something else (doh). I do intend to buy it at some point cos I LOVE the colourful look. I'll wait till Sean's done though.
an hour or two would suffice to get into opoona? not really.
you need to put lots of hours into this game. it's big, different and there's much to explore. you might need 2 hours to get past the intro, and explore the first huge city and get to grips with the gameplay mechanics. after 2 hours i just barely scratched the surface. now after 15 hours i'm in the second city and the game is cool. why is it the cities are so big and there's so much to do and find and the overworld is rather small?

I'm fairly certain he was being sarcastic, especially given the ""
am I to assume, then, that the transformation was not entirely complete, therefore providing you with ample control over enough appendages necessary to type this message?
I'll probably get started into it by the week-end and yes, I'll definitely put more than 2 hours into it! The good thing about older releases is there's less pressure!
opoona is a great rpg sadly with so many games i have and keep getting i haven't played it to much but what i have played i really enjoyed from the graphics to story and controls its just fun and seen a lot of great reviews on it, gamestop is selling it for 10$ i see no reason for a rpg fan not to get it
Ok so I've been following this thread and today I went out on a limb and bought Opoona. I have to say, I'm not feeling what makes it so good... The camera is a bit annoying and the outdoor environments are a bit messy looking. I don't know how I feel about the battle system either. It's odd to say the least. I might persevere with it and see if it grows on me.
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matt. 1:21.
I have wanted this since people said it was like Earthbound. Now that I have decided to buy it, I can't find it anywhere...

Well, it's not for everyone, that's for sure. Every review I've seen for it has been mediocre...it's a cult classic, I'd say. Oh, and Outrunner, I hope you're not using just the nunchuck. That's probably why you have problems with the camera. Get the classic controller and it seriously makes the game twice as good.

@Popyman: Sweet! I knew you'd be excited about it. I'll try to follow it as much as I can and obviously, I'll post my thoughts as I go along. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a beat.
Actually I've been playing Texas Hold 'Em Poker in preparation for the review; also got to the final boss in Bomberman '94 for repeated defeats (taking a break for that before chucking the remote through the TV!) and even played a little Little King's Story and some Tomenasanner, Shinobi and Yookai Doochuuki for good measure. I even booted up Chibi Robo!
I'm inclined to play and review Chibi Robo! before tucking into this, though I want to wait to get the manual (I bought a sealed German copy which has a German manual, so I'm getting the manual from the US version of the game separately). Therefore I will try this puppy out tonight. I've read the manual (which I always do before playing games), so I know what to expect. I did remember reading you can play the whole game with just the Nunchuk; since I'm reviewing it I'll naturally give all the controller options a go.
