This is fantastic news! What might be the Wii's first truly great flight game is coming to our shores! Not only does it look incredible, and it's made from the same guys responsible for Ace Combat! How can it go wrong?
Yeah that did look good; I actually thought about importing it, but then I'd miss out on the story bits. Also hoping for a Euro release. Rising Star games is our best hope I'd say.
Man, I still haven't seen that movie...Maybe the game will come with a cupon or something =P

Well excited by this one - I love WWII flight sims - I remember skiving off school to play 'Aviator' on the BBC micro - it was the first Spitfire simulator. Those were the days.
looks pretty decent, i hope they include some sort of online play with wiispeak
That's not happening.
oh in that case i'll pass, not that its a bad game without online, i'm just not the biggest air combat fan, so it'd need more to it to catch my interest
I was wondering whether this one would make it to western shores. The controls definitely sound interesting. If they end up working well enough I might just bite.

So, after reading a blurb about the general topic of the anime movie it got me interested, so I put it on my Netflix queue. I must say I was quite pleasantly surprised. It is a very adult-themed movie, something that I didn't quite expect - but I think that's a good thing because I don't care for the childishness often portrayed in these movies, even the ones carrying a more serious tone. Anyway, while the slow, plodding story may not be for everyone the movie does pose some very interesting questions/scenarios, which unfortunately I can't reveal without spoiling the movie. The aerial combat scenes were quite nice, but they are few and far between and they're really not the highlight of the film as the story steals that spot. Yes, I quite enjoyed the movie, even if it's a bit of a downer.
Afterwards I went to read up on the book the movie was based on, and, unfortunately, it doesn't look like those novels ever made it outside of Japan. I'm not at all a Japanophile, but I would have loved to delve further into the real meat of the five books' story arc.
