Is it really fair to use terms like "copycat" when it comes to businesses and companies? I mean, I thought one of the golden rules of business is to outdo your competition, or to eliminate them. As gamers, it seems we too often create allegiances to the companies we like, but forget that they are, in fact, COMPANIES. They're out to make money, and in most of these cases, a company felt that "innovation" meant more money. They didn't innovate because they felt called upon by God to do so. And when someone else has a good idea, why not take it, tweak it, repackage it, and make more money off someone else's hard work? Sounds unethical in the literal world, but whoever thinks the business world is ethical is either braindead or really naive.

TBH, apart from Sony's wand, which is obviously a wiimote ripoff, none of these look like rip offs. Sure there's similarities, but that's it. Just because someone thought of the analog stick first, does that mean no other company is allowed to use it? If the xbox controller is a rip off of the gamecube controller, and the playstation controller is a ripoff of the SNES controller, then we might as well say every single video game is a ripoff of Spacewar, and every new invention is a ripoff of the spear.
And this is coming from someone who, not only owns only nintendo consoles, but hates Sony entirely and would never buy one of their consoles.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
This thread has left me confused as to what constitute's copying, is the TV copying from the Window, they are both square, have a glass front and you see moving image's when looking at both, and they both smash if you throw your Wiimote hard enough at them....(Ponders)
Am I the only one that finds it impossible to use the analog stick on a playstation controller? Does anyone's thumb actually bend like that... comfortably?
I think what makes Nintendo's fame is the fact that they know how to put things together like nobody else. You know, touch screens, microphones, cameras, all these things existed before the DS, but Nintendo put it all together and makes a incredible videogame system.
