Topic: New Wii Update

Ok, so I just got a message today on my Wii from Nintendo saying there's a new update available to download. Just wondering if anyone knows what it's for

Okay, the update's installed and my Wii's still on Version 4.3E so I guess it's either a minor bug fix or something to do with homebrew. Just going to check the Wii Shop Channel since that was down for maintenance last night.

Can't see anything different there, so it's probably like I said earlier. Just had the letter on the Wii message board as well, which doesn't specify anything.

Nothing special I suppose.

I updated both the Wii and DSi, so a simultaneous update is a bit odd but as I see it, it's only behind-the-scenes work.

my update just failed.. some error.

Nintendo are just checking, if we have Moded Wiis or not.

anyone else got this problem? I can't update it, it only shows a tiny progress and then it's error 32007 over and over and over again. Of course I can't access the Wii Shop Channel, and I wanted to buy a game since it;s my day off... oh well

Dunno what the update is for, but apparently there's one for the DSi as well.

The message said it enhances the performance for the Wii and probably some security updates. Not sure what the DSi update is about.

The WSC was offline last night so I saw this coming... But hell, is it just a regular boring security update?

Yeah, guess it is just dealing with homebrew stuff...probably the same for the DSi. But I do remember seeing that same message before the last couple of times, lol.

@mnementh: Have you tried calling your region's branch of Nintendo (their support line) to see if there's something to be done about it? that sucks

Try updating your Wii through the settings menu rather than from the message you received from Nintendo, or do it vice versa if you were doing it the other way around. That fixed mine with the last Wii update, I was getting a similar message.

The Wii one was probably just for removing the HBC

For some reason, something tells me to not try and update my Wii, its working just find now, unless this update, improve online gameplay.

C'mon, Nintendo, where's the next big update?

Oh, didn't know this as Wii standby was off. Sigh....

Somehow it's been more liberating for me since one of the recent updates wiped my HBC install. I no longer fear when updating. =)

And looks like the Wii update was probably just another HB/Mods sweep. System menu is still 4.3.

Yeah, I got it this afternoon, nothing new to report whatsoever.
