Hey folks, I came across this thread and thought I'd sign up to the Nintendo Life forums. I'm the author of the Wii Sports Resort review on No Added Sugar.ie. Really appreciate the kind comments about the review. Just to comment on a couple of the things raised in the thread so far: -Unfortunately the game doesn't import your bowling or golf stats from the previous game. -Don't worry about the recalibration. It really is handled intelligently and doesn't intrude on the gameplay. -Al reviews are subjective, but IGN AU's review is lazy and I'm pretty sure that the consensus on Wii Sports Resort will not agree with IGN AU. If anybody has any particular questions or comments about the game I'd be happy to answer them here.
That's too bad about the stats. But it's understandable - we can't assume we'll be equally adept (or awful, depending) at the new golf and bowling with their enhanced control schemes. Thanks for dropping in, and welcome to the forums!
Cheers. Actually I'm a regular visitor to Nintendo Life, just not the forums. You can assume if you were good at the bowling in the original Wii Sports you'll be just as good at this one. As for the golf- you should be much better at it as soon as you adjust to the improved controls.
It's really good. It feels similar to the disc golf in tiger woods, except a bit harder and with more floaty physics. I just wish there were more holes to play on!

welcome! and very nice review. i was wondering how disc golf works--speifically, I've heard something about a cone that sort of sucks in your frisbee, and makes things perhaps a bit too easy. Could you elaborate?

There are 18 holes in both disc golf and regular golf,. They are the same holes in both modes. As for the 'cone' you mentioned, I think what you're talking about is the 'goal' at the end of each hole. Unlike Tiger Woods where it's just a small cage thing on the green, in Wii Sports Resort its a glowing area that takes up most of the green. So in this respect it is easier to finish out a hole. However, having played both, aiming accurately in Wii Sports is a bit harder. Although there's a nice extra when you reach pro class with your Mii in Disc Golf- you're given the ability to throw perfectly straight every time.
