Not much here made sense. Especially notable was the bit about COD: MW2. You do realize you described the way video games have worked forever, right?
Yes, but nowadays experienced players get fancy new weapons and powers while new players get a default choice of weapons and powers that are weaker than the experienced player's arsenal. Back in the day, it depended on skill rather than what weapons/powers you had to decide who would win a multiplayer game. Now it's just "how many hours you've played" and "how far in the story you've actually gotten" instead of purely skill. It just makes me cringe sometimes.

i liked your sentiments... somewhat.... but i really, REALLY don't see how this relates to cold showers.
What I get from the post and the title, NSMBW was a "wake up call". You know how if you have been out drinking all night and need to get up to go to work you'll hop into a cold shower to just shock yourself awake. Except in this case NSMBW proved that 2D platformers when given the attention that Nintendo gave NSMBW, they can be just as compelling and even more fun than a 40 hour epic storyline driven 3D game.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
