He has a point. Why is that?

Because some people don`t know how to just shut up and be patient and let Nintendo do what they want/need/have to do.
I find some people on this site to be down right ignorant.

The Prime series isn't old and it's already playable on the current console hardware. The DSi VC would theoretically have very old Game Boy games that are not available anymore or playable on current hardware. The comparison is completely inappropriate. If you're going to call people "ignorant," at least think things through a bit first.

Who here are you referring to?

A lot of the talk is about GBA games. The only reason the DSi can't play them is because Nintendo axed slot-2. Plus the DS Phat (and Lite and i for that matter) can run old Game boy games using emulators. I don't see how this is any different.

Oh I`m so sorry I didn`t read ALL 80 or so comments of this debating topic. I only read about 10 comments on the “Metroid Trilogy!!” topic not the DSi topic... my bad. I just think people should just trade in their copies of MP 1-3 to the nearest EB Games, save the money until August, and buy all 3 for $50 like I`m doing.

The rumor has always been that it'd play all forms of Game Boy games, though we'll have to wait a couple weeks to find out. Since GBA can run GB games, and the DSi has the GBA hardware inside of it supposedly (I think?), I can't see why it wouldn't be able to play older games. Plus, it's still an inaccurate comparison if it is indeed a GBA-exclusive service because unlike Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 which can be played on Wii already, GBA games can't otherwise be played on DSi, so this would be the only way for a DSi user to get these games while enjoying the DSi's exclusive properties and software.

I think this is excellent news, I think having all 3 Metroid Prime games is excellent. Especially with upgraded graphics and controls - truly excellent.

How far do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer showing that you have considered another point of view.

A lot of the Wii's greatness comes from the VC, but it shouldn't be that way.

The new and epic games should be first priority, and things like VC and rehashes should only be supplementary here and there. But the rehashes seem to have taken over.

Would you buy the Wii if it didn't have VC or remakes? What kind of library does it have without Nintendo's back catalog to fall back on?

I realize the VC and remakes are there though, and it does help the Wii, but there is something wrong with how Nintendo is going about their business these days.

I did buy the Wii partially for the VC. I missed out on a lot of old games, and now they're very rare and expensive. The VC makes these cheap, affordable, and easy to play.

As to the issue surrounding new Wii games, I have only four things to say: Wait. Patiently. For. E3.

Definitely.

That's why many Nintendo fans have jumped ship and more and more will continue to do so.

We'll see what happens at E3, and if there isn't much new announced, we'll know the direction Nintendo has chosen.

I think this is the only time with Nintendo I haven't jumped ship. I received 360 as a gift but never asked for one. I still play Wii mostly. Though ill admit it does help to have an HD console for a more well rounded library.

What about the hint on www.metroid.jp "another sidestory coming soon" what up with that? They really have to release something to compete with cod and the conduit.

I don't want to sound negative but I am not holding my breath for a spectacular E3. I do think Nintendo will deliver some quality games. They always do, but when looking toward the rest of the year, we may get Pikmin 3 and another Wii ____. I don't think NOA cares about the new IPs that are coming to Japan or even sequels to newer franchises like Trace Memory R or Endless Ocean. I'd love to be proven wrong and NOA shows off something that may not seem ideally marketable, but still a great time (like excitebots)

Nintendo not to screw it's fans?

Bad enough Metroid Prime 3 doesn't get a price drop (Unlike Halo, an actual GOOD FPS) but now everyone that paid full price has to pay full price again?

Not everyone is like you. Not everyone will buy a box that comes with three games they already have, just for the new box.

Those that buy Metroid Prime 3 now at $50 -- and don't know about this -- are getting screwed. Those that just want one of the NPC games are screwed. Those that already purchased Metroid Prime 3, and are now forced to purchase Metroid Prime 3 again to play the NPC games have been screwed.

To the person that said "Oh but it's a great deal"...
No it's not. They were ripping off consumers before and this will rip off consumers slightly less.

$50 for buying Metroid Prime 3 a long time ago, and another $50 for this compilation? Great, so Nintendo saved you ten bucks. (I'll explain the math if someone couldn't catch on)
How's that for a company pickup line? "Yeah we're screwing you big time but hey this way we're just screwing you 10 dollars less!"

The best news out of this is Nintendo is making two NPC releases into one, so that's one less we have to put up with!

Okay, let's say I agree with you. It's not exactly the greatest deal in the world, that's true. NOA is still giving us a better deal than NOJ. Nintendo thought MP3 would sell better. Itd be one thing if they were capitalizing on success the way Capcom does but from Nintendo's point of view MP3 wasn't successful. A lot of ppl didn't buy MP3. Also, why would you want to buy the NPC titles individually? That seems to be what your implying. Even if I wasn't planning on buying MPT, I wouldn't be who it's targeted for anyway. I only wish Nintendo had done this with Pikmin as well. Nvm, just read your last sentence sry.

Sigh.... AGAIN?

AlexSays and company again in Nerd rage and whining, because as awlays, think that everybody played the games.
And no don't use the excuse of the gamecube version, again please, if you want to convice me that, give me a Game Cube controler, a memory card and the games in PAL. (Which i can't find anywhere around here).

Of all of the "Wiimakes" (that i actually like because i never owned a gamecube) this is the one that makes sence because almost everybody liked the MP3 controls.

OH and Rjay.... YOU CLEARLY DIDN'T PLAY WII PUCH-OUT!! SO STOP CRITIZISING A GAME THAT YOU EVEN DONT KNOW >: (
Wii Punch-Out!! have much more, but much more content that the Nes version.
The only thing that the Nes version have that Wii don't is "Mike Tyson".

EDIT: Oh after i read the AlexSays about MP3 and etc.... i can say that he's just a troll afterall... if Nintendo don't make game for the minority "pseudolame hadcore whinny nintendo fanboy that want antention" im actually glad, i hate whiners and being and oldschool gamer that also like good casuals (that aren't all of wii games, but there is actually good ones) please don't try to ruin my free time, thanks.

Ha! Love it! I see this thread has headed the way of make-believe.

Halo might be accessible (which is why so many newbs consider it to be great), but seriously it was lazy and a trudge through the same damn rooms over and over again. And that shield just made it boringly easy.

Halo sucks and having played FPS's for a good ten yrs prior to its release I feel justified in saying so.

Off topic I know but I nearly spurted coffee all over my monitor when i saw that gimp comparing Halo to Prime.

At last someone agrees with me on this. Whenever I go to gaming communities and say Halo is overated ppl look at me funny. I feel Halo killed the FPS. Why did 2 weapons and regenerative health become a standard that all games in the genre must abide by? Only Timespliters gave the proverbial finger to those "standards" and look what happened there. I could go on but this would be a topic for another thread.

Its not like a Metroid Prime Trilogy prevents another new Metroid game being made. The development time for the trilogy in comparison to making a brand new game is probably very very short. Whereas it would take years to do a new Metroid game on the Wii, it probably only took a few months to finish this trilogy.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
