@prosody thanks, im at the gobul urgent quest so am i almost close to getting that skill? and what is an easy way to get barroth tail other than choping the tail off. because i need it for the waist armor.
I have the noobiest set of noob questions in the noobish history of noobiness to ask all you non-noobs: So, I got the first quest (about collecting 'Shrooms) from the woman behind the counter. Left by the peer to the left, which put me in the hunting base thingy near Area 2 of the woods. Woman introduces me to red box, blue box, and bed ("woman introduces me to bed," nicely phrased there, me) and then... (1) How the heck do I get to D. Island where this quest apparently takes place? There's a boat I can't board in the base and everywhere else I can go is just the place I've already been. There doesn't appear to be any islands. (2) Why suddenly do I need to carry a map with me to see an area I've just spent the last couple of hours already checking out? (3) How can I offload some of the crap I've been carrying around with me for ages that's clogging up my inventory and of no real use to me right now? Asides discarding it. I figure you're supposed to put stuff in the item box back home, but since I took the quest, I don't seem to be allowed back in.
Apart from the above, loving the game so far. I'll check out the online when I suck less.

1) D.Island looks totaly same as Moga Woods (the place outside the vilage) 2) becous it acts like a new area even when its not, you need to have the map always or get armor with Map skill ( hunters armor) 3) sell or mostly put it in your Item box in you home, when you have taken the items with you on a quest than A) discard one item that is useless to you so you make room for the item you need or B) abandon quest
@caelett: I just started playing it a while ago. From what I've seen, it pretty much lives up to the hype, and I haven't even tried online mode yet. My only complaint is that the game doesn't explain very much other than the gameplay, but that's not a big issue because you can just look online for that stuff.
I tried playing online today, but I have no clue how that works. If not all 4 have wii-speak, it isn't working it seems. Typing messages is way to slow when you need to use the virtual keyboard. I tried 3 different towns with different people, but none of them had any idea how it works to do quests together.
the demo dint realy give you enough to work with so you never realy savoured the game trust me 5 hours the game become epic for the next 30 hours that go online and there more to do...............
Just FYI, this game isn't an RPG. There are no levels and experience points. This is a pure action game, with a deep and complex weapon system (rather than character stats, etc). Don't expect a deep story, it's just there to facilitate the hunting.
Also don't use the virtual keyboard! Plug in a USB keyboard and use that. It helps a lot!
I haven't played the demo as I couldn't get my hands on one because GameStop wanted to reserver it and I refuse to as it was suppose to be free. But I did place an order for this game will be receiving it soon, so I should find out how this game is and what the hype was all about.
Anyways...since my question hasn't been answered in that other thread I'll post it here. Other lands, is it possible to just explore them without having to do quests? You know, like the woods? Also, I'm stuck on the first herbivore eggs quest, says you can get them at this tree...but the tree is blocked (poorly, lol) and apparently my character is too stupid to walk around the blockage. XD

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@BellGoRing Go to Area 7 in the Desert. Theres a tree with herbivores gurading it, and beside the tree there should a bunch of bones, twigs, etc. in a nest check there. FYI dont run too much with the egg for it will break.
