I predict Miyamoto is going to announce a Treasure-developed Star Fox, a Retro-developed Kid Icarus, a Capcom-developed Zelda, Nintendo's Pikmin 3 on Wii, Ice Climbers for WiiWare, 4P Balloon Fight for DSiWare, Clu Clu Land 2 for DS, and of course an English translation of Mother 3.
No matter what we recieve on really any console, how a game or games are going to release, and how awesome they may turn out, theres always going to be someone complaining on how their unhappy.
Just for you. "I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear." - Freddie Mercury
"He's going to start today by talking in more detail about New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort and then Zelda DS. And when that's done, he'll answer some questions from the audience."
This suggests there isn't a new announcement, though they could of course surprise us. Still, I don't want to sound ungrateful. I would definitely like to hear him talk more about these, and I have had enough announcements for now. Some more surprises for the fall media summits would be nice, actually.
So far he's just talking about what we've already seen from the trailers. Also, "start" can infer that he'll have something to say before the Q&A.
EDIT 1: "Wii's added processing power enables Nintendo to create this kind of multiplayer game because the console can handle all four players plus additional on-screen characters, etc. " ANNNNNNNd stating the obvious.
EDIT 2: Woah, 80 levels??? WICKED!
EDIT 3: "Mario slides humorously through the level and hurls snow balls that freeze enemies in mid-air, creating platforms for the plumber to jump atop. "
Yup, that's for me.
EDIT 4: "Whenever he loses his ability, he uses a debug cheat to trigger it again. Too funny."
Yes, they say "start," but he also says that "after" they'll be taking questions, which in context seems to mean directly after those discussions already named. I'm not about to hold Nintendo hostage to the latent implications of its own language though, should they decide to surprise us.
Wow, 80 levels. That is awesome.
EDIT: "6:25 p.m.: Miyamoto plays one of his favorite stages, a snow level, and here Mario dons a penguin suit. Nintendo's master designer dies in the game right off. That's why we're not allowing any photographer." Hahaha, I always suspected Nintendo's designers weren't as good as playing games as they are making them.
"Galaxy 2 is very, very far along, but since Nintendo has New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it's going to hold off and keep Galaxy 2 for next year. "
Okay, I can deal with that. Space things out so I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars at once.
Woah he's already moving on. I sense some announcements since he's skimming through things.
"Miyamoto confirmed an earlier theory of mine that he was the one responsible for adding the ability to weigh your dogs and cats in Wii Fit Plus. He has cats and dogs at home and wanted to do it. I knew it. "
"NOA's Bill Trinen is up front again demoing a sword fighting component of Wii Sports Resort in which you travel through a landscape dueling with various Miis on your system. You have only three hearts to make it as far as you can get. "Trying to clear the 10 stages of this is really a lot of work and very challenging," says Miyamoto. "
WIN.
I'm hungry. I'll check the rest later. Meatballs ftw.
I really don't expect announcements, Kizzi, but it's possible... Honestly, E3 had too many 2010 announcements from all companies. I hate those kind of announcements. Galaxy 2 looks awesome, but do I really want to be thinking about a game at least a year away? That's just too teasing.
