I've played and beat every metroid game since the nes, and I usually don't like old games with new bells and whistles, but I WANT METROID PRIME TRILOGY!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I'll get this, actually. I've heard Prime 2 isn't all that great, and the dark world isn't compelling. I've played a good deal of Prime 3, and while the controls are good, I hate the worlds you go to, so I'm not motivated to continue. I'll probably just pick up the original GameCube Prime for $5.

Prime 2 did some interesting things, but overall it is much too monotonous to recommend. There were a couple bosses you actually fought while on spider ball tracks, and I thought those were really neat. But the story and atmosphere felt like a depressing version of Link to the Past... in space. Oh and limited ammo for light and dark beams? Lame.

Multi-player was pretty fun, actually, and is probably even better now, but if you have a DS you should just get Hunters instead. It's a million times better for multi-player, and it's single-player is actually more fun, too, though it's not as good as the original Prime's.

Prime Hunters sounds awesome. I do have a DS, so I'll remember that rec, thanks Adam.

Hunters' multiplayer is really great, and it's a fantastic single-player adventure as well, but this hasn't discouraged me from wanting Prime 2, and the rest of the trilogy for that matter. I haven't played any of the console Primes, and expect that all of them will at least be good, if not great, if the DS version's any indication.

I've never played a Metroid game.
Are they that fun?

Download Super Metroid, stat.

By the way, since there seems to be a good bit of Hunters loving lately, if any of you start playing, let me know. I might have to give it a shot again. I got tired of playing it due to all of the alt-spammers online, which to me is worse than snaking in MKDS, and wrist cramps -- but the latter could probably be staved off by limiting my play time.

The Hunters digression continues here to keep things on topic-ish.
