Did you try cleaning it with a cloth anyway, this helped me when Mario Strikers Charged didn't work once.

this is exactly correct. i went through the same issue with smash bros brawl and when i bought a new wii for the bedroom came across it again with metroid trilogy. both thimes they fixed it no questions asked. they even paid for shipping
