@adam, yeah. I've been trying to get a good feel for this game but each "hands-on preview" has been off from one another. While everyone gave a commanding thumbs up, there's a lot of disagreements. Like the voice acting. Some said it was superb, others adequate and some total slammed it.

I'm waiting for the Nintendo Life hands-on, and hoping it confirms what I feel for this game. I really do, because I've been waiting for a core Metroid since Super Metroid. This site, IMO, is the BEST at reporting on games.

Looks as good as anything on the 360. Hopefully it plays well too

it's much more like prime in this game, just jump at the wall and the process will be pretty much automated from there. wall jumping used to be so awesome because it was a skill that you had to work at, which made it that much more fun to use once you learned to do it

This game is looking to be very cool. I can't wait to play this game. I like how it is heavily inspired by the classic 2D entries such as Super Metroid.

Too bad Nintendo hated us, while the folks across the pond can already play it this summer.

i don't know why they wouldn't let you use the classic controller if you wanted to; that way, you could still pick up the remote to aim at the screen and tilt to refill health while still holding the controller in your left hand. that way you'd be able to move while in first person, which should be possible to do since you can apparently move in 360 degrees even during the sidescrolling segments.

You may actually be on to something there.

Metroid Other M is now tied with Super Mario Galaxy 2 as most wanted for me. Now it's all going to depend of which game has the most nostalgia / Hyped or taste.

guys, just saw the story on other m, and i am now VERY much excited again... if not for the fact that it looks like we have a talking samus (from the trailer) and the fact that it seems the retro metroids and the prime series had a child

i'm pretty sure that 'metroid' in that screen is meant to be plural, as in "might be invaded by the other metroids" still on sr388. hence the plot of the second game

As has been reported on the front page and in another thread here in the forums, an FMV trailer for Other M has finally hit the web! While it isn't what I'm craving (gameplay footage) here's a few thoughts:

I'm sad that it doesn't show any gameplay, but relieved that the voice acting in this one sounds better than in the one that was illegally uploaded a few days ago. I for one welcome the story and know that it won't hinder the gameplay that's standard to this franchise whatsoever. I think people seem to forget that Samus isn't a cold, unfeeling automaton; she's a human being and—though it doesn't come up much—she has thoughts, feelings and regrets like the rest of us. Those that are ignorant to that fact would benefit from reading the official Metroid manga sometime...

Slightly on topic, I just beat Super Metroid. After experiencing the totally epic ending, I'm looking forward to this even moreso now!
