@romolux... umm strafing in First Person would make a lot of things easier. The nunchuk could also allow you to be able to strafe while in Thrid Person and then there is the option to not have to have auto aim wich is because of the lack of buttons... oh and camera control....
All the games major control/camera issues solved with one ALREADY available periphial!

i don't think auto aim has anything to do with buttons, it was about keeping the shooting the same in 3D as it felt in the old games, letting you run and shoot without thinking about it.
i can see using the IR camera work for aiming, but if sin and punishment 2 proves anything it's that it's still really finnicky trying to aim in a 3D world from a 2D perspective, since the game gets really confused about whether you're aiming in the foreground or background and often won't target what you're trying to aim at. personally i don't think you're missing much with auto aim.
strafing could still have been done using the D pad or + and - even if they had wanted, but with the dodge move i never missed being able to strafe. i also never once wanted to adjust the camera and thought they did a really good job there, so i obviously didn't come away with the same impressions you did... it all felt pretty good to me just the way it was
it sounds like people are mostly BETRAYED that Samus actually has a personality, even if it has probably a bit too much drama and stuff...apparently
Really I'll go with the "people are just being extreme feminists and are butthurt idiots" for now as with Nintendo's awesome amount of games in the next few months, and the lack of dissappointments from games for over a year, it would be weird to have one huge dissappointment in the middle of all of this. This isn't 2004 where every game dissappointed me or something. (in case you don't get that. my personal preference for MP2 and PM:TTYD and KATAM and Custom Robo and Four Swords "no one can afford multiplayer" Adventures and Sonic Heroes compared to the Adventure games and Viewtiful Joe 2 etc etc)
Nobody has helped me with my problem. The last two friggin' missile tanks. They're in the main sector--one in a large elevator room, and one in the room directly to the east of Adam's command post. In order to get to the latter, I know I have to take a secret elevator in sector 2. But the elevator that leads to the missile tank is red, and flashing. I can't figure out how to turn it on.
Im not really sure what place you are describing, but I know one thing for certain; you can never turn on any elevators post game, but you are able to get every item post game. I think the 2 tanks your talking about are also on the way to the diamond, so I would suggest heading there (and even if you already did the thing at the diamond, you may have missed some on the way)
@Kid_A: Forget about trying to use elevators that are glowing red, those are no longer in service. As for the tanks you're describing, I know that to get to the first one you need to make your way to where the map marker is and in the room where you ride the elevator down SPOILERS(the one that gets stuck and you have to power bomb your way out of)/SPOILERS there's a morph ball tunnel that wraps around the shaft, that's where you'll find the missile tank. As for the second one you mentioned, you're on your own, since I can't remember it...

I can't get that elevator to work either

@romolux.... oh yeah its all matter of opinion. The game is still fun, but I own the Ninja Gaiden Sigmas and love them and know how great Team Ninja can do with an extensive fighting engine with muliple weapons and all in 3D with a decent camera all at the same time, and I fell that they left this game lacking in controls and camera. Im still enjoying the heck out of the game, but I do understand the mixed feelings from the reviewers and as Im no diehard of any series that I overlook issues, I see the issues in this game as just that flaws. I am a fan of Metroid, and having fun and that is what its all about, its a $50 bucks well spent and a must have for any Metroid fan.

@slapshot: So, what you're saying is that simply because some of us are die-hard fans we're overlooking "issues" with the game? It couldn't be that these "issues" were simply non-existent for us, it's just that our fandom has simply blinded us to them? I seriously resent that...

People who are having problems with the controls either aren't trying hard enough or have missed the point entirely EDIT: Here's what I mean by this: if a game has bad controls, it has bad controls. There's no way around it. No interpretations--bad controls are just bad. So when there are dozens of critics and fans praising the accurate, unique controls, what does that tell me? It tells me that the people who think the controls are bad aren't doing it right. Or they've just missed the point.
I'm sick of this "how come you can't move in first person?" nonsense. In just about every third person game ever made there's a way to go into first person and look around. Heck, in Banjo-Tooie you could go into first person and shoot eggs at enemies as well. But you can't move in first person, because that's not how the game was meant to be experienced--it's simply a way of getting a better look at your environment. Why this is suddenly a big deal in Other M is beyond me. I think since the Prime games were based around being in first person, people automatically assume that they should be able to move in first person, because they could in the Prime games.
or, perhaps they've played other Team Ninja games and preferred those controls to the controls in Other M?

Alright. I've had it. I need help guys, seriously! I found a map of where I'm stuck. The missile tank I'm having the most trouble with is in room number 8 on this map (I think if I can get that one I can get to the other one). Give me all you've got guys! http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Games/M/...
Also, how the deuce do I get to the glowing golden dot?

Alright, I think I know what your talking about now. In room number 8, there should be vents along the cieling. I think you have to shinespark up into one of them and there is a missle there. I could be confusing this room with another, but Im pretty sure thats it.
And you get to the glowing diamond like this: Get to the main elevator room, then go down into the main sector. You should come across a power bomb monster thing, beat him, and there will be a long passage where you go through to get to the real final boss. That should take you to the other missle tank.
Good Luck
EDIT: I think you get to room 8 on the way to the final boss, so that may be why youre having trouble

The room isn't long enough to shinespark, unfortunately. And just for clarification, the map is the main sector, so I shouldn't have to go down the elevator to get there, right?

Well, if you are in the entry part of the main sector, you have to go down the elevator to sector 2 that was unlocked with a power bomb passage, and then go up to the main sector through the main elevator to get to the next power bomb passage that takes you to the final boss. Hmm, maybe you dont have to shinespark... I remember seeing a bunch of enemies come out of one of the pipes, and I was able to wall jump into that vent and grab the item, so try that.
And, just for clarification, you have every other item right? Or are you just trying to get to the diamond?
Just beat it. Well, you know. The first time. 65% item pickup, which is probably pretty measly, but it still made me feel good to find it anywhere near that high. haha
There were a few powerups I located but was unable to get to...I'm sure I'll be posting desperately for help on those soon.
But...yeah. A very, very good game. Excellent ending sequence, too...if a little long. I won't be spoiling details about it, don't worry...suffice it to say, I thought it was an excellent wrap-up, and the closing cinematics were gorgeous.
well ive been trying to do what u suggested...still no luck..guess i have to go get the lens replaced AGAIN ugh i wanted to play this soo bad.....back to Ivy the Kiwi? for me
